Delightful serenity with alpacas
Wow! I highly recommend. I camped in a meadow on this ranch at 7000 feet with nothing but wildflowers, goats, and alpacas. If you want a private camp site this is it. The owners are so thoughtful. They even provide a clean shower in the barn. Be mindful no fires. Things were quite dry. I had a wonderful surprise, a brand new baby alpaca was born the morning i was there. One more is due. so hurry on over! You will not be disappointed. And buy a dozen fresh eggs.
Such an amazing time!
Amazing campsite! The alpacas and goats were so much fun to watch and the shower and restroom wan an added bonus. The hosts were super kind and helpful and even let my girlfriend pet the baby goats.
An experience that can’t be “bleat”
Have you ever wanted to have your own entourage of goats that follow you around like you are some sort of rock star? Would you enjoy warm, velvety eskimo kisses from gentle alpacas? How about beautiful countryside, and amazing accommodating hosts? Well then this is the Hipcamp spot for you! Upon arriving at the location we were greeted by the owners and given a special tour of the property where we got to meet all the amazing animals of the ranch. Diane and Tom are very knowledgeable and we loved learning all about the ranch and its amazing inhabitants. We were then shown to the camping location which is a lovely meadow with a wonderful view. The spot is just a quick walk to an indoor shower and bathroom so you can really enjoy all the relaxation of camping while still having a flush toilet! We can’t wait to book a stay here again.
What a cool experience! This is so much better than going to a commercial campground. We had plenty of privacy, and the hosts were very friendly. We were met upon arrival and given a lovely tour of the animals. After a lot of traveling it was so nice to just have a quiet evening with the alpacas. We had a great view of the stars from up on the hill top after an evening shower in the bathroom we were provided. Thank you for the great experience!
We had coffee with the alpacas!
Diane was extremely accommodating, she took time to introduce us to the animals and gave us extra opportunities to visit with them when she saw we were interested. The setting is gorgeous. It is a working farm, so it does have the usual stuff you find on a working farm, such as manure used for fertilizer in their "Hoogle-Kultur" style of farming. The bathroom was squeaky clean, the animals and their spaces very well cared for. The Nubian goats produce very sweet milk, we bought some along with some fresh eggs from their chickens. A really wonderful place and we will certainly go back!
We LoVeD this place! Diane and Tom are incredibly nice and welcoming, the farm is beautiful and peaceful, and the alpacas are truly the greatest creatures ever. They gave us multiple options for where we could camp, they introduced us to the goats and alpacas, gave us a tour of the garden and grounds, and explained a lot about life on their farm. Bathroom facilities were great (best of the three hipcamp places we had stayed), and they even had an outlet in a hut by the campsite which we used to charge our phones. Saw an incredible rainbow, some beautiful storm systems, and did we mention the magical alpacas?? Curious, shy, lovely creatures. We stayed here on the first night of our weeklong trip and on the last on the way back, and would definitely stay again. It’s also really nice that they only take one group per night, so you have the whole place to yourselves. A+ five stars.
Inspiring alpaca and goat encounter
First off, the hosts are awesome and friendly people! We really felt welcome and they shared their lifestyle and fun environment. They offered alternative campsite locations with different characteristics. They gave a guided tour up-close with the goats and Alpacas - very beautiful creatures with inquiring eyes! The girls LOVED it! We really enjoyed talking with the hosts as we have similar interests in learning skills to be more self-sufficient in this world! I found their geodesic dome garden awesome! It is passively heated and cooled and full of different plants growing - some for eating, some to help maintain the moisture. It is a wonderful example of year-round growing - even in snowy winter conditions! We HIGHLY recommend this location and look forward to returning and spending more nights enjoying this rich environment!
