This is a wonderful 10 x 10 cabin with a large loft & great views. Quiet walking trails. ATV trails for days. There is fishing at Barker Dam in Nederland. There is an extra large hammock that is great to hang out in. There is also a bird feeder hanging from the tree. Please feed the birds but do not leave food laying around outside. Be wary of Moose, Bears & Mountain Lions. They have been seen in the area from time to time. The futon down stairs is very comfortable and cots up stairs in the loft for more sleeping area. Bring your sleeping bags to stay cozy at night. There are candles & lanterns inside to light up your night with an Air tight wood stove to keep you warm at nights. To use the wood stove open the flue and pull metal handles in front out to activate air flow. The ground around it is sloped so you may have a hard time setting up any tents around the cabin. The B&F grocery store is in Nederland. You can buy food, Coleman green propane bottles & water here. There is a 3 burner Coleman stove to cook on. Limited pots & pans as well as silver wear. Road disclaimer, the road to the cabin is one lane dirt road. The drive up to the the cabin is pretty good but the turn onto the single dirt road to the cabin has a dip, if you have a low clearance car it may bottom out when you are turning so be careful. No Trailers. They will not be able to turn around once there. This is to hopefully prepare you. Please think about these things before you book and by all means have a wonderful time at our little slice of heaven Please leave it better then you found it and please pack out your trash. When leaving please make sure both door locks are locked, put key in lock box and mix code for next camper. Thanks, Cole

Very rustic cabin getaway
Coordinating with Cole to meet up before arriving at the cabin was a little difficult as he changed the meeting place a few times. Finding the cabin was also a little difficult as there was no sign and the cabin is hard to see from the road. Otherwise, this was a great place to stay. It was quiet and secluded with access to hiking and 4x4 trails nearby. Nederland is also just down the hill, which is nice. The cabin has almost everything you could need like a wood burning stove to heat the place, cots to sleep on, water, snacks, firewood, and pretty much anything else you could think of. It is a rustic cabin though so there is no running water, electricity, or bathrooms. As long as you are ok with that, this is an awesome place.
My family and I had a great time at Cole’s cabin. The views are absolutely gorgeous and the cabin is very private. We typically try and find a spot for dispersed camping but it was so nice not having to rush up and secure a spot on a Friday afternoon. The cabin is rustic (no one running water or electricity) but comfortable. Cole had plenty of lanterns and a very nice fire pit to sit around and soak in the view. The ground around it is sloped so you wouldn’t be able to pitch a tent but Cole has a tent site right up the hill that you can also rent for larger groups. Would recommend based on the view, the seclusion and convenience of the cabin.
Memorable off-grid mountain cabin!
The land and the cabin are awesome! And we had a good experience, but we'll include some details we wish we had known beforehand. We travel with our two dogs that don't always get along with other dogs or people so we try to find places that are remote. We did not realize when we booked the cabin that there is a campsite (three sites) close enough that you can hear people talking from the cabin. We arrived around 2AM after driving from Oklahoma and our headlights at the parking spot were shining on sleeping campers' tents. We had to unpack as quietly as possible and hope our dogs (or theirs potentially) didn't start barking. Not exactly the secluded vacation experience we were hoping for. Once we made the hike down to the cabin it was better (our dogs were off leash running around). In hindsight, we should have booked the campsite as well. We were hoping to be able to hike around the property, but felt like we couldn't because there were campers nearby. The view from the cabin porch is incredible! We loved the hammock and the wildflowers. We would definitely return!
Beautiful views, cozy little cabin
My group of 6 discovered Cole's new listing and decided to take the plunge and be his first guests. While he may be ironing out the kinks of hosting, he was very responsive and took extra measures to ensure we had clear directions and would be aware of the potential travel issues we might encounter due to the early season and recent snow. It ended up being a great trip, and his property is beautiful. The 10x10 cabin was a pretty tight squeeze for the 6 of us (I would recommend keeping your group to 4), but the wood stove kept us warm, and in the right weather the porch and picnic table are wonderful places to relax and take in the Rockies. Our group already wants to return later in the summer - nearby camping spots would accommodate a larger crew.
The exit road was not accessible and caused a flat tire. The exit road is also not maintained and overgrown which cause significant damage to the car. A heads up would have been appreciated.
