If you are legitimately looking to rough it, don’t mind doing a little work on the fire pit, and really want solitude, this is the spot! It’s quite rocky and there’s a really neat shady rock shelf under the picnic table/ main parking area to have a fire and feel cozy. Not a lot of level land, but a discerning eye can find a good place for a tent. The cacti were blooming in late May, and there were lots of flowers! Great bird visitors, too— several bluebirds!
