the dispersed camping was great… plenty of privacy. I love the sagebrush landscape and the mountain views. we’ve stayed at Campe Diem twice so far and will likely be back next time we’re in the area.

It was very secluded with the potential for more people. I stayed on a Thursday night. Didn't really explore the other spots but they're was plenty of then. The sky was gorgeous at night.

The view of the valley from this land was incredible! Having a flush toilet option was great too, a little bit of a walk, but nice to have. This location is awesome - Southern Colorado is the hidden gem of the state!

It’s a rural area, and the space is pretty open (no privacy), but we were the only ones there so it was great. Good place to stay as a stop in a road trip, but there are also interesting places to see in the area. Vannetta is friendly, super accommodating and helpful.

We stayed in campsite B, and it was nice for the space we had. The bathroom was not too far, but a walk. The campsite is a 5-15 min drive to the reservoir depending on the spot you go to. I was not satisfied nor disappointed on the stay. I had a different idea in mind of what it would be. Communicating with the host was a bit spotty. They mentioned to let them know about your arrival date and time but host is not around nor is there someone checking the camp sites. We had a group of neighbors mention they didn’t pay for their spot and just hoped there was open space.
I was a little hesitant based on the reviews, so trust your gut instinct.

This is an extraordinary location that will give you a sense of disconnection. I would recommend arriving while the sun still out, to ensure you can find your site and que set up.

It’s a really pretty area. Close to a reservoir which is cool! The bathhouse toilet says to bring your own water to flush (makes no sense), so don’t bank on the bathhouse. Close to the dunes though, so that’s good. Overall, it’s good, but the women of the group were disappointed about having to go into town for the bathroom.

We had a great stay. It's all a little haphazard with no site assignment, but everyone who had booked a site was nice enough so we were able to accomodate each other. Signs are broken/unclear if it's raining, but it's easy enough to wander around and find what you're looking for.

The campground was easy to find, the address Cody sent us through the chat and the GPS coordinates in the instructions were accurate. Both Waze and Google Maps worked fine. We stayed in zone A. The sites are not very flat and have lots of rocks, but walk around and you’ll find some flatter/cleaner sites. All of the sites have a fire pit. The spots are pretty close to each other so if the campground is busy, you will probably see your neighbors. There are also lots of little cacti around, I had to keep a very close eye on my dog. The bathroom is not a far walk from zone A but it was not very clean. You will also need to bring your own water to flush it and your own TP. The cell service is not the best but it works. Overall, this was not a bad place to stay overnight on our way to Great Sand Dunes!

We had a great stay! Quiet and right in the middle of nature. Having sand-boards and firewood on-site was one less thing to worry about. The hot shower was a welcome bonus as some in the group were expecting no shower for a couple days :) The reservoir nearby was also great for some fishing and paddle-boarding.

There were many different areas to choose from so having options was nice. The area surrounding it was beautiful and we were able to see a bunch of the constellations clearly at night! Overall a great experience other than the wind from the storm and the mosquitos. Make sure to bring some type of bug repellent.

We camped at Campe Diem MDW, a perfect location for May camping close to Sand Dunes NP. The weather was great and the drive to the Sand Dunes is a quick 35 minutes. The "Rook" site we stayed at was awesome. Up a small hill from the parked cars and other campsites makes for a beautiful, secluded site. This site had two campfire rings and plenty of space for two tents, a campfire and chairs, coolers, and a table with grill. Firewood on site and a large jug of non-potable water right near our campsite for washing hands.
We had a great time and would definitely stay again! Would recommend arriving in the daylight as the loops and sites are only marked with small signs.

This multi-site camp ground had a nice view of the valley floor on one side and was in the shadow of a nearby mountain in the evening. Great views in every direction. The camping areas came in many sizes. We picked out one that would fit our large tent.
We used this camp site as a spring board to go to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The camp ground added to the variety of terrain we experienced on our trip. I would recommend this camp ground and would use it again in the future.

Cody’s land was secluded and quiet with great views of the night sky! It was also close enough to town and the sand dunes to make visiting not a hassle. This site is definitely an upgrade from dry camping, but watch out for major cactus on the way to the bathroom!

Our camping experience at Campe Diem was OUTSTANDING!!
I strongly disagree with any review that claims the site is hard to find. We made sure to message Cody on the app ahead of time (as explained in the instructions) to let him know what time we’d be arriving and he made sure to be waiting for us upon arrival.
We followed him as he guided us to our designated spot and he even accommodated us with a quick site change when we explained that there wouldn’t be enough flat space for our 3 large tents. (We were a large group of 8 and 4 dogs)
We ended up at the Aileron site in camping zone A and we absolutely loved it. The views were gorgeous, the area was very clean, the bath house was a very short walk from any of the sites in camp zone A, the firewood we purchased was already available for us to grab when we arrived, and the reservoir was absolutely beautiful!
There were also pre-built fire pits at each site which was very convenient.
The shower and toilet in the bathhouse were such nice amenities! They had toilet paper available that was sealed to keep it clean and the shower water was nice and hot.
The drive to and from the Sand Dunes was shorter than described by most reviewers (about 35-40 mins)
Overall 10 out of 10, would HIGHLY recommend!

This was such a beautiful dispersed camping area! Dessert land surrounded by amazing mountains! I highly recommend staying here! Be aware of the cacti everywhere, it was a bit concerning to let my dog run around. Also it was extremely windy the weekend I was there which made it difficult to hang out at the camp site as sand was blowing everywhere and chairs were getting blown over as well as we had to put rocks all over our tent to keep it down. Besides that the scenery was beautiful and the sites are spread out enough that it felt very secluded. Cody got back to my messages within 1-2 days and was very accommodating.

We were there on Memorial Day weekend so it was obviously busy, and the camp sites are pretty close together. Campers were respectful though so no complaints really, just not very private.
The camp sites are generally kind of small, too. In fact, because it was a busy weekend and we were only a party of 2, we actually got stuck in like a side road, not a true camp site, which was a little disappointing, but we made it work. Definitely appreciate the "bath house" and it's conveniently located to other sites, including only an hour to some hot springs! Having wood on site was a great perk, too!
Overall, we would go back during a less busy time when we can pick our own site.
