Private cabins are sleeping space only- toilets, showers & kitchen are centrally located and shared. Camp Kush is located in the Great Sage Plain at the edge of the Colorado Plateau in the shadow of Mesa Verde National Park with panoramic mountain/mesa views of the Four Corners region, all only 5 miles southeast of Cortez.
We have private couple’s or family cabins, shared hostel-style cabins with bunk beds, tent and vehicle sites, a community kitchen, a covered event space, vault toilets and hot showers.
We are a cannabis friendly destination & are inclusive! Cool folks of any ethnic background, national origin or religion as well as hippies, freaks and queers are all welcome here!
We're happy to give you the local's only hook-up to find hikes, ruins, swimming holes, lakes/rivers, hot springs, tacos, coffee, cannabis, a spot to rent kayaks, bikes- you name it! Just ask.
There are so many things to do/see nearby: Mesa Verde National Park, Canyons of the Ancients, Hovenweep National Monument and Phil's World. Or raft down the Dolores river, maybe rent an SUP or kayak and chill on a quiet reservoir. There are several museums and cultural centers in the area as well that truly help set the context for your visit to the area.
We are located just outside of Cortez on a county maintained, surfaced gravel road. You really need a vehicle to get the full Colorado experience as public transportation is scarce...and the land, vast!
Durango and Telluride are each about hour away, and Moab is about 2 hours away-including Arches and Canyonlands National parks.
The best/nearest airport is in Durango, and the nearest large international airport is in Albuquerque.

We loved everything about our experience at Camp Kush. The cabin and bed were comfortable. The showers were hot and the community kitchen was perfect for making all your meals. The best part was how close it is to Mesa Verde. One of the best places we have stayed. We will be back! Thanks Jen and Amy for being great hosts and sharing your beautiful place with us.
Fun eclectic little place. Bathrooms & shower house was clean and stocked. Kitchen area was perfect for our needs. We brought our own gallons of water. Temperatures dropped and it was a little colder than we expected but other than that the place was great.

Jen and Amy have an amazing setup and they are awesome! We stayed in the juniper cabin, and ended up booking another night because we loved it so much. The cabins are spacious, cozy and simple. The bathroom and kitchen area are just a short walk under the stars at night or with the hues of the sunrise in the morning. There is an observation tower to lookout and they have an awesome spot for sunset. Camp Kush is the perfect vibe for us who love living simply and deeply connected with earth. Honestly we were scoping out the area by the end because we loved it so much, and would love to work with Jen and Amy. We left feeling inspired by what they are creating. They are passionate, motivated and carry a lot of vision and you can see it and feel it in the way they tend to their land. This place is unique and would stay here all the time if we could! I would highly recommended staying here at Camp Kush with Jen and Amy; you will fall in love with it!

The friendliest campsite you’ll ever come across. From the host (and her dog, Luna) to the other campers here, it’s been amazing. Big comfy cabin, easy access to facilities, best kitchen area I’ve seen yet, whether you’re tent camping or staying in a cabin, STAY HERE !!!!
