WINTER UPDATE: The road leading up the the property is plowed regularly, but the driveway and pad is not. If you are comfortable with shoveling or driving in some deeper snow, you're welcome to give it a shot. and if it doesn't work out, I will be happy to give you a refund. A great resource is to call the general store in town and ask them about the recent snowfall/ tempera

WINTER UPDATE: The road leading up the the property is plowed regularly, but the driveway and pad is not. If you are comfortable with shoveling or driving in some deeper snow, you're welcome to give it a shot. and if it doesn't work out, I will be happy to give you a refund. A great resource is to call the general store in town and ask them about the recent snowfall/ temperature conditions. If you have a 4WD vehicle and give yourself daylight to work with, I'd say it is doable with good tires/chains. Unfortunately since I am not nearby, I wouldn't be able to provide a tow out if you become stuck.

Escape and unwind in the mountains. Our 50x30 gravel pad is nestled in a grove of aspens overlooking Placer Valley at 11,000 feet. The secluded yet convenient location will give you unrestricted access to some of the best hiking, fishing, biking and trails in all of Colorado. Less than a mile from the Mt. Lincoln trailhead, the Decalibron Loop, South Platte River, and Montgomery Reservoir. Wildlife is an everyday occurrence so be prepared for deer, fox, birds and more! Finally, and not to be missed, be sure to catch the night sky as the stars shine brighter here with no light pollution for miles.

Whether it’s the panoramic views of the towering peaks that draw you, or the clear valley streams teaming with fish or the world class cuisine and rich history nearby or just the rare peace and quiet of the forest you seek, you’ll find it all here. We’re happy to share our little oasis with you.

Ideas For Your Visit:

-Conquer FOUR 14ers in one day! The trailhead for Mt Lincoln and the Decalibron Loop are walking distance from the site. Access usually requires a specific off road vehicle with limited parking, but you can just leave the car and get on the trail sooner right from your campsite! Breathtaking views from the top of Mt Lincoln stretch across Park County and as far east as Pikes Peak.

-Visit the historic old west town of Fairplay, see the inspiration behind the show South Park and finish off your day at the local brewery.

-Grab a bite to eat in Alma: the highest incorporated town in North America! Don’t forget snacks and a T-shirt from our favorite general store: Al-Mart.

-Ride hundreds of local Mountain bike trails

-Explore Hoosier Pass and it’s many trails of wilderness

-Fish Middle Fork Platte River’s meandering crystal waters just walking distance from camp site.

-Explore shopping, arts, music culture and activities in Breckenridge (30 minute drive)

-Take an evening wildlife walk to watch the sunset at tree line over Mosquito Gulch

-Before you lay your sweet head to sleep, poke that cute little thing out of your tent flaps and Feast your eyes on the BiLLONS and BILLONS of light freckles in the undisturbed heavens above.

My husband and I wanted to get away but still be close to home as he was working all weekend. We live in Breck so this was a perfect quick getaway. We have a sprinter van so the gravel spot was perfect for our needs. The entry is rather steep- but that is noted in the directions- just make sure you have a larger clearance car. Will absolutely be back, thank you!

This is a great spot to get away for the weekend. The site was exactly as pictured and we had a great trip. The reviews that talk about the road nearby are accurate, however it isn't heavily trafficked and there are trees that give good coverage. The site was perfect for me and my husband but if you have children just note there is not a lot of room for them to run around because it sits on a the side of a mountain. We would definitely recommend to a friend!

Perfect little campsite for a night. Needing a place close to the 14er trailhead and found this site. Campsite is also very close to town to get all of the things you forget!

Nice spot near 14ers and fishing. My fiancé and I enjoyed our stay here for two nights. Driveway is a little washed out from water on the left side and it needs some restructuring work

This was a beautiful place to stay in the fall. The colors were amazing and I had great views of the mountains. It was extremely private and very close to lots of amazing hiking trails.

What a nice little spot to set up camp! We enjoyed our stay at the Aspen Grove and would recommend to future campers. It's a cozy little camping pad in a grove of aspen trees. The leaves had just dropped before our stay and I was super bummed about it. But the area was still very pretty and felt welcoming with other changing leaves to admire.
It's easy to find. The public road going to the property is a little rocky, but not bad. It's a well maintained mountain community road. When you get to the property itself, this is when you might need to have a 4x4 vehicle. The drop into to campsite is a little steep and the new road gets washed out on the side from weather. (The host has done a very good job explaining this in the description, so just make sure to read everything.) There is a rake onsite to help upkeep the road. I've included photos of the area where it could get tricky if you don't have four wheel drive.
It was a very pleasant stay, and like I said, I would recommend to others. Thank you!

The Aspen leaves had just dropped, but we loved looking out anyway. We need to come back in the summer as well, to enjoy all the beauty! We love camping in autumn. The view coming down the road from the property. So pretty!

This was a beautiful location for camping, the aspens are lovely. It was a bit sunny so you may want to bring some shade. Not a lot of space around the tent area and there is a slope that we were worried about eroding by walking around near the edge. We had our family there, and I think it would be difficult to fit more than one family sized tent, and no room for more than one vehicle. There was a dirt road close so with each vehicle there was a lot of dust being kicked up and blown our way. Bring bug spray and sunscreen! The area is nice, it's very close (minutes) to Alma, Fairplay and Breckenridge/Keystone are also very close. Great location for driving to hiking locations. We loved going to Montgomery Reservoir.
