Located 27 miles from Steamboat Springs in Yampa, CO. Primitive camping, creek side with a fire pit. Campers can find solitude here as they can place their tent or camper as close to the creek as they wish and fish with beautifully colored sunsets. Please read entire listing as it will likely answer campers questions. Within this listing Please note the special check in process, the condition of the path driving in and the tips we give for the sake of your comfort by reading the entire listing. . RATE: Nightly fee is $50 for 2 people. Additional persons after 2 people are $25 per night per person. Children under 12 are free. You’ll feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere yet less than 2 miles from gas station, grocery & liquor store, a patio bar, a firing range, and a 24 hour 50’s Diner all located within 2 miles in downtown Yampa. Most people DO get cell service here. NOTE: We have several acres of land therefore this camp site does not have it’s own address so GPS pins do not work, therefore we personally take you to your site to check you in. Please carefully note the check in procedure! CHECK-IN: All campers must call (not message via app) but rather calling the telephone number we provide to notify us 1-2 hours prior to arrival so we can meet you downtown Yampa and personally take you to your site to ensure you do not get lost. This is primitive camping, therefore there are no bathrooms, no potable water or electric hookups. Campers must come prepared to pack it in/pack it out. For recreation opportunities nearby please see the activities tab. *Due to lack of shade, it is worth bringing a canopy as well as good bug spray that contains DEET. The evenings do get cool at this elevation so it is suggested to also pack pants and sweatshirts, and of course your fishing pole as the fishing off your site is entirely private and lots of fun! CANCELLATION POLICY - If you cancel at least 3 days before your check in day you’ll receive a refund (minus Hipcamp fees). No refunds for bad weather, Mother Nature or anything beyond our control. **To access this site, please note the 1/4 mile drive in from the main road is not paved and is a bumpy through the meadow (now, to some, its a breeze, but to those who have never driven off road may find the 1/4 mile drive in rough (all up to the driver's interpretation.) We have seen a GT Mustang go through no problem, and a subaru pulling a pop-up, just note the road is not paved and is not a road - but more like a man made path created for this primitive access.

Our stay at Bobby’s land was absolutely incredible. From the moment our trip was reserved, Bobby was helpful, reliable and made our trip easy. His land is beautiful! Very secluded, yet close enough to all the nearest convenience items you may need. We and our dogs had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

This is a wonderful spot! Not only is the land beautiful and private, but Bobby is a hoot! We only spoke on the phone, but he gave great directions and talked us into the site as he was busy bailing hay in his field. The site is also a quick bike ride from "downtown" Yampa all on farm roads (you just have to cross the highway). The creek is loud enough to drown out any road noise but you will still hear coyotes howling and night and see ducks, chipmunks, and if you are lucky (?) a badger!

The road into Yampa- just cross the highway out of the driveway and that incredibly well maintained dirt road loops right into town (around Bobby's fields).Sunset on a smoky wildfire night.Chalk cliffs along the creek.Great views of the chalk cliffs behind the creek.

Spot was very private. Great Mountain Views and was able to set up tent right on the creek. My dog and son loved the creek, shallow and good enough to wade through. A lot of coyotes so keep your pets safe!!! Bobby was very friendly and assured we made it to the spot ok. Recommend and not a bad drive from Denver.

This site is beautiful, quiet and very private. Even if all the sites were full it would be great. The creek is winding and undisturbed. Perect.

Peaceful meadow campsite with a pretty stream meandering past, a backdrop of cool chalk cliffs (amazing in the moonlight!) and rugged hills to hike in. We saw eagles, awesome stars, heard owl & coyotes in the night. The creek is lovely to fall asleep to. Cars driving by in the distance but not bothersome, and quieted down by evening. Also there was a nice fire ring & picnic table. Bobby (host) & helpers were very on top of communication, and everyone so friendly! We loved it and hope to return soon.

This was an incredible campsite while we roadtripped from CO to UT. We were worried about availability of the first-come-first-served sites nearby and really lucked out with the location, extremely helpful/welcoming/communicative host, and overall proximity to water without any bugs. Our dogs absolutely loved it and we hope to be back soon!
