Located 27 miles from Steamboat Springs in Yampa, Colorado. Private, secluded primitive camping, creek side with a fire pit. Campers can find solitude here as they can place their tent or camper as close to the creek as they wish and fish privately with beautifully colored sunsets. Please read entire listing as it will likely answer campers questions. Within this listing Please note the special check in process, the condition of the path driving in and the tips we give for the sake of your comfort by reading the entire listing. *Though the rate is for 2 people, this is a great space for your larger groups. RATE: Nightly fee is $50 for 2 people. Additional persons after 2 people are $25 per night per person. Children under 12 are free. You’ll feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere yet less than 2 miles from gas station, grocery & liquor store, a patio bar, a firing range, and a 24 hour 50’s Diner all located within 2 miles in downtown Yampa. Most people DO get cell service here. NOTE: We have several acres of land therefore these camp areas that have been created just for you do not have their own address so GPS pins do not work, therefore we personally take you to your site to check you in. Please carefully note the check in procedure! CHECK-IN: All campers must call (not message via app) but rather calling the telephone number we provide at booking to notify us 1-2 hours prior to arrival so we can meet you downtown Yampa and personally take you to your site to ensure you do not get lost. (Late arrival is ok as long as it’s communicated to us that you’ll be checking in late in the evening) This is primitive camping, therefore there are no bathrooms or electric hookups. Campers must come prepared to pack it in/pack it out. For recreation opportunities nearby please see the activities tab. *Due to lack of shade, it is worth bringing a canopy as well as good bug spray that contains DEET. The evenings do get cool at this elevation so it is suggested to also pack pants and sweatshirts, and of course your fishing pole as the fishing off your site is entirely private and lots of fun! CANCELLATION POLICY - If you cancel at least 3 days before your check in day you’ll receive a refund (minus Hipcamp fees). No refunds for bad weather, Mother Nature or anything beyond our control. **To access this site, please note the 1/4 mile drive in from the main road is not paved and is a bumpy through the meadow (now, to some, its a breeze, but to those who have never driven off road may find the 1/4 mile drive in rough (all up to the driver's interpretation.) We have seen a GT Mustang go through no problem, and a subaru pulling a pop-up, just note the road is not paved and is not a road - but more like a man made path created for this primitive access.

This is a great piece of private land with amazing views near a cow pasture and a little creek. We loved our stay here and the hosts were extremely helpful in helping us find the location and overall very kind people, even giving us a fishing pole to use and bringing a table for us. We really value privacy and this location has it. There is a house some few hundred yards away but the view of the campsite is well obscured. You will fall asleep to amazing sunsets and the sounds of running water. Bring tough bug spray and some sort of pop up canopy as there is no shade or tree cover. Thanks For a wonderful stay- we will be back!

i hesitate to leave a great review because i want to keep this gem a secret just for us! This spot was just wonderful - hubby and i spent two nights there and enjoyed quiet, beautiful skies, and super welcoming hosts. Amber, who manages the listing for Bobby, got us the hookup with the local firewood guy, and drove us out to the site (we'd have never found it otherwise). The wildlife was awesome (ground squirrels, weasels, bats, an eagle, and coyotes calling after dark). The creek noise rocked us to sleep, and the birds woke us up. Just a great spot. Do bring your bug spray, and maybe a bucket toilet - note that there's good privacy (can't see or hear other campers) but also no cover for when you're doing your business (not a big deal, but worth noting). There are no trees - we were glad for our cheap Walmart shade tarp thing. Just a beautiful spot!

This was a beautiful and secluded spot! The views were amazing and falling asleep with the sound of creek was so peaceful. The first night was a little warm and there were a lot of bugs, BUT don’t let that deter you. Bug spray and a fire goes a long way! The next day it was cooler and there was literally no bugs. I would absolutely stay here again and in fact i look forward to coming back one day. My dog loved the creek, the sunsets were insane and again, it was secluded and a much better option than a public campground. The host was super friendly and showed me to the spot and made sure to check in on me as well. I might recommend 4x4 to get down there, but I’m also a wimp even in my lifted Jeep :)

Very private with a beautiful creek running right next to our site. And Bobby, the host, was so friendly and gracious! Would highly recommend. But bring bug spray!

Our stay here was great! The campsite we had was beautiful and private, also had some trees/brushes that provided some shade. So nice to have the fire pit all ready to go and Bobby was a great host! As others have mentioned, bring bug spray! You might luck out depending on the day and temperature, but definitely be prepared. Although our dog loved the spot and the creek, she did get pretty bit up so if we stay again we may reconsider bringing her. All in all, we had a great time!

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay on Phillip’s Creek. Great communication by Bobby G & his Helpers. We were guided to our campsite, which looked exactly like the pictures. It’s a private setting with a nice running stream. We did some fishing (caught one) & hiked around the property. We had 3 gorgeous days & starry cool nights.

This was an amazing experience. The site was clean and private. There are beautiful views of the flattops. There are some weathered chalk cliffs that are a close walk you can check out. The kids loved exploring them. The creek ws fun to float and fish but will be even better earlier in the summer when not so low. The host was very easy to work with even when i had made a mistake on the app with my reservation. There is lots to do and explore near by. I will be back next summer!
