This site (and host) are truly EXCELLENT. Highly recommended for campers of all skill ranges, from highly experienced to families with children. Bobby is just a wonderful guy and all around great host. This is his family’s private land, which means you’re in the clear to have a fire (in the stone fire pit), and he is 5th generation. Felt great to support a local rancher and his family. He met us on an ATV right as we pulled into town (which is quite small and has tons of character with its dirt streets and very old buildings), and he had us follow him right to the site, making it super simple. Also, we found it easy to drive a Subaru to the site from the road. It’s literally right on the river and has easy entry points for dogs and kids to get in. There’s also a picnic table for easy food prep. It’s right next to a hay field so the expanse is great (and beautiful). There aren’t any campsites within view and only a few farm houses in the distance, so it felt quite private. All in all an excellent site, host, and experience. HIGHLY recommend!!!

This really is a very nice camping spot right by the river! In my opinion it’s probably a little bit overpriced but still a great place to stay. I was in the area to fish and I ended up finding really nice free camping up near Bear Lake So I did not end up staying both nights at this listing. $50 a night seems like a lot even though it’s a very nice spot. Just down the road there’s camping for free or five dollars a night in the national forest. Again the property on the host were amazing, just thought maybe it was a little overpriced

The site was not at all what was expected! I learned upon arrival that the site we were going to be camping at was just built that day. Funny because i booked the site 2+ weeks ago. The grass we were told to put our tents on was 2 ft tall! Put our tents WHERE??! So we were supposed to sleep, camp, hangout in WET 2 ft tall grass, filled with holes that couldn't be seen, (resulting in my friend twisting her ankle), mud and so many bugs?? The pictures that were online that i paid to camp at, were of the other site. That was down the river a bit. But he was double booked, And blamed it on Amber, the lady running his camp sites. The site was such a mess that we had to camp up in the weeds, away from the river, and rebuild our fire pit, as the original was just a circle of rocks set upon some long grass. NOT WORTH THE MONEY TO STAY!!!

What a hidden treasure! We are over the moon about our visit to this incredible camping spot. It was private, right on a creek, and incredibly well-maintained. We were able to pull our 21 foot camper trailer in and out with no issues. The grass was mowed so there was a large area for us to spread out, our toddler to play, and our dogs to run around. Behind this site are endless fields, assumably used for hay harvesting. The backdrop was stunning. Mountains in the distance, and total peace and quiet. This is a very family friendly site. There is a fire pit surrounded with rocks, a picnic table (bring your table cloth, it’s seasoned), easy access to a creek (accessible for us, our toddler, and the dogs). Just a short drive away is a general store/grocery store, and a Sinclair gas station that offers propane tanks, fuel, snacks and refreshments. Because of the creek, there are some mosquitoes. We brought two Thermacell Mosquito Repellent lanterns, and they took care of that. The host, Bobby, was so welcoming and warm to our family and two dogs. He made us feel at home and made himself available if we had any questions or any needs. We highly recommend this site! It was worth every penny, and more. Total privacy and a weekend filled with incredible memories for our little family.

We loved this spot and would come back in a heartbeat!! Bobby was so sweet and helpful, he met us in town and showed us where the spot was, about 2 miles, because GPS doesn’t really get you there. There’s a nice cafe, store and gas station in the tiny town if you need anything. The camp spot itself was private off the road a bit and the sound of the rushing creek was so relaxing! It is a little off-roading to the spot but I think any car would make it since it’s pretty level. It is “roughing it” but we enjoy that kind of camping the most because you really get to embrace nature! We did bring our tiny camper though which is very similar to tent camping in terms of amenities. We had no issues driving or parking our camper there. In summer it’s hard to find quiet and private spots so this was well worth it for some time alone with my family. 30min from Steamboat Springs. Also, there was a long picnic table and fire pit at the site. I would recommend it to anyone! We saw many deer and they even came kinda close! I’m so glad we could enjoy Bobby’s land and support him as a local rancher.

This campsite was amaZing! We would defiantly go back. We had 5 boys 7 and under and they had a blast. The river was fun enough to keep them busy but safe enough so that we weren’t worrying about them the entire time. Plus our 11 month old was able to crawl the entire site since it was grass vs typical dirt sites of Colorado. Great views. Thanks Bobby G!
