The two bedrooms downstairs with organic sheets on queen beds handcrafted of sugar pine, and walls lined with sugar pine milled from downed trees from the land. Downstairs has a bathroom with tub and shower, living room with mid-century furniture, views of the orchard and even tv for cozy movie nights. Upstairs is a fully-stocked kitchen with gas stove, oven, and all chef's amenities, foldout queen sleeper, bathroom with shower and outdoor table for a sunset dinner. Cool mountain air refreshes your nights or feel the luxury of air conditioning on a hot summer afternoon. Wifi is available without cell, so enjoy moments of digital detox. After a relaxing day in the mountains, perhaps star gaze from the patio or orchard.
To get to the sandy beach and creek spot, called Barkhouse Beach, take an easy stroll through the forest. The nearby Barkhouse, close to the creek, is a reconstruction of a typical Maidu Indian dwelling. Walk inside to experience the traditional history of this land.
Or cool off in the Yuba River at the South Yuba River State Park, just a 5-minute drive from the farmhouse. Ask about accommodating additional guests.

Alicia was a wonderful host. A clean farmhouse with plenty of activities for the kids. There is also a beautiful organic garden to pick your veggies from during your stay. Highly recommend this place for a family stay.
This fully equipped house was great for our family vacation (5 adults and new baby). Two private bedrooms, bathroom and sitting room downstairs right across from huge organic garden where you are welcome to pick. Upstairs was kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and sleeper couch (as for most sleeper couches, most comfortable to put mattress on the floor). Host was great communicator and very welcoming. Property is amazing with beautiful trails, walk down to private creek access with hammock, picnic table and beach chairs. We had fun river walking and soaking in waterfalls. Close drive for access to wonderful spots along the Yuba River as well. This is a very special place and we will be back!!
We loved our stay. The creek and river were beautiful and relaxing--just what we needed. We enjoyed exploring the garden and cooking together with ingredients freshly picked. Our hosts were friendly and responsive. A very special property. We can't say enough!
Fabulous Farmhouse with organic garden is a wonderful experience, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. . We picked from the garden, the fresh dinner veggies were delicious! The host is prompt when Texting or calling, so that was nice. I definitely will stay again. Thanks
The Organic Farmhouse is lovely - a 2 story home across a private driveway from an enormous, overflowing garden with every possible fruit and veggie. The creek access is down a steep hill about 10 minutes walking, and is so, so cool for kids. It was like a boulder playground with multiple levels and tiny waterfalls and splashing holes. There was a flat spot with a wood dock and hammock and we stayed all afternoon playing. Nevada City is close - only 5 miles away - but it takes about 20 minutes on the bumpy road. We stayed here with 2 adults and 3 kids ages 6 and under and had a great time. The upstair and downstairs are very separate, so you can keep one level for play and one for resting, as we did. There isn't really a yard for younger kids to play, but the river and creek more than filled that gap!
The house is decorated well and is comfortable. The couch downstair doesn't fold out, but the one upstairs does. The bedrooms are super dark and great for sleeping in.
Note: you can drive to get closer to the creek, but make sure you have an SUV! We got a little stuck - but the kind owners are pros and helped us out.
The farmhouse was truly amazing! What a magical farm and orchard, comfortable house and accessible responsive host. Just a lovely visit!
What a beautiful stay, showing us what off the grid living is all about! I cannot recommend this location enough, although I'd like to keep it a secret spot it is too good not to share <3 Will definitely be back!
The Farmhouse is a terrific retreat. Beautiful forested area with a gorgeous creek pools deep enough in a few places to immerse completely while standing straight. Beautiful rock formations. An organic garden (we were here in July) with bountiful vegis, fruit, and berries. For us it was a terrific getaway -- we felt transported!
This property is super special, and I'm so grateful to have been able to spend a little time here with two families (3 kids). The farmhouse is very comfortable and the creek, river, farm access made for an AMAZING getaway. Thank you Alicia!
