We just stayed here for a night on a weekend trip to hang out at the Yuba River, and this cabin worked great for us as a “crash pad”.

A note for folks used to the “comforts of home” in a cabin situation: this might not be the place for you. Our cabin was clean, but definitely rustic. It’s just a set of bunks and a wood stove. There isn’t really any “living space”, and no running water in cabin, but shared shower and toilet facilities are steps away. Think 70s summer camp bunkhouse.

All the cabins are close to each other, so you’ll be saying hi to neighbors. This seems like a great place for a big group to get a few cabins for a weekend camp out. The land is a nice mix of wooded and open spaces with a collection of trails to explore the area.

Our hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming and gave us great tips about things to see in the area.

If you’re looking for an affordable way to explore Grass Valley, Nevada City and the amazing Yuba River — and enjoy “roughing it” a bit — this place fits the bill.

Interesting property, simple but comfortable cabin, clean bathrooms and showers. Worked great for our group of 4 after a day at the Yuba. Would stay here again. Best as a peaceful, clean, quiet place to stay and great jumping off point for going elsewhere.

It was quiet and peaceful, the host was welcoming and I was happy to see that good COVID practices were in place. The cabin was very rustic and bare bones, and that is what we expected. Kind of like camping without the tent in a comfy bed.

Great place. Everything was quiet and comfortable. The cabins have electricity much to our pleasant suprise. Lots of fun things to do in the area.
