This is a pretty cool location. Topanga Canyon is glorious, and the site is above a lovely outdoor theater. It rained pretty heavily, and the host took care to let me use a little cottage on the property to avoid being drenched. The nearby road is noisy during daylight hours, but was quite silent in the night.
My second time here. It's absolutely perfect for my situation. It's a real climb to the tentsite, so, not for the literal weak of heart. But so worth it!
This is a beautiful camp site that you won’t want to miss! Peter was such a great host. He greeted us with his mask on and led us to the camp site. We loved the views of the canyon and that there were many places to chill. Highly recommend!
This campsite was even better than expected! Really easy to get to from LA, but still felt very secluded and in nature. The fact that it's on top of the ampitheater was a really cool experience and though you have to hike up to the site, it's so worth it. Peter couldn't have been nicer, and walked us up to the site, giving us a mini tour of the Theatricum along the way. The teepee that was set up was large enough for two tents and had an awesome view. I will definitely be coming back here! And being the only people at the campsite was really cool!
Campsite was great. My son loved camping in the teepee and eating meals on the rock formation behind that overlooks the canyon. Peter was a fantastic host. Short drive from LA but feels private.
Private mountaintop campsite with a beautiful view of the canyon. It is quite a workout to hike up there but it's well worth it. Suprisingly few bugs for this time of year. Setup our tent under a giant teepee frame! Only a 10 minute drive to the beach & nearby hiking trails. Also got to see the outdoor theaters nestled in the woods below. We will definitely need to come back and see a show there.
Peter was very nice and easy to communicate with. The site was beautiful and private - just you and the plants and the big rock on top of a hill. He's not joking when he says it's 200-300 steps up - I was happy that I brought my stuff in my backpacking backpack. An unusual camping spot in a beautiful place!
We had a great stay at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum! The campsite is a short hike up a moderately steep hill on the property and has beautiful views of Topanga Canyon. The host Peter was kind, flexible and communicative. As an added bonus, the surrounding property and theater has a lot of character (we hope to be back for a show in the future). Would highly recommend!
