The vibe at Wild Tender Ranch Sweeping Views
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This place is fantastic. Driving by the grazing horses on your way in sets the stage for this serene, beautiful land share. Montrese was there to greet us and walk us through the property. The wind screened fire pit area was stocked with dry wood, the kitchen was well supplied, and the RV was clean and comfortable. It got VERY windy at night so it was hard to light a fire, but we made do and had a wonderful time.
I brought my mom and aunt here for a ladies weekend of filled with campfires, stars and laughs, and we couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for exactly that. Every moment of this trip from driving down the beautiful coastal hwy 101 to bumping along the dirt road up to WildTender to being greeted by the radiant and full-hearted Montrese to being awoken with seven majestic horses grazing in our camp was a memory and unique moment in and of itself.
It was my mom's first time camping, so the RV at this camp was a perfect way for her to try sleeping outdoors and in nature while not having to worry about pitching a tent, staking a rainfly or sleeping on the ground. I don't know if it was a combination of the misty starry sky at night, the laughs we shared while channeling our girl scout days and trying to start a campfire or the delicious camp meal we cooked in the kitchenette, but she's now hooked and I couldn't be happier.
I plan to return here again (and I recommend you go here) for some peace and quiet, stunning ocean views and to soak in the positive energy seeping from every pore in the land.
Peaceful and healing. I couldn't ask for more from any stay as this was more than I expected on all levels. There was an abundance of space to roam, amazing views everywhere you looked, and more amenities than I was expecting. The RV, kitchenette, and fire pit made the stay feel luxurious and very easy. This is a perfect place to spend some quiet time outdoors where the only sounds are the crackling fire, frogs, and ocean. We didn't hear or see any other people, but were pleasantly surprised to have a couple dogs and several horses checking in on us. I would definitely return to this site.
What a wonderful place to take your children and their friends!. The RV is a perfect kid hideaway and there is ample room to stake a tent nearby so the grownups get some alone time. The cooking cottage was really helpful and has all the plates, cups, bowls etc. you would need. Just bring a frying pan. The best part, though, was meeting Montrese and her animal family. I highly recommend doing the "animal interaction" she facilitates-- the kids loved meeting the gentle horses and learning how to speak to them. There are also many other adorable rescued critters you will hug and scritch. This campsite is worth every dime and goes to a great cause, as well. Go here!
I am a bit reluctant to write this review because demand for this exceptional site will go through the roof; but in the interest of paying it forward, GO HERE! Montrese and Anders' secluded retreat is unparalleled. The serenity of the ocean views sets the tone for a perfect stay, and then the amenities make the whole experience extra comfortable. From the wind protector, fire wood, and kitchenette, to the cozy refuge of the RV with running water, you cannot beat WildTender Ranch. Do yourself a favor and spend a few nights supporting this incredible place.
WildTender Ranch is unbelievable. From the gorgeous drive down Highway 1 to the gently meandering paths through pastures of wild horses, lakes, rolling grassy hills and finally to your coastal perch above the Pacific Ocean - the entire experience felt like a dream. We went on one of the most stormy weekends of the year and even though we were sopped out in rain and fog the entire time, it was still magical, which tells you just how amazing this spot is. The entire weekend we felt at peace - the healing energy of this place is tangible. The RV was clean and cozy. We enjoyed playing games, reading and relaxing in the space. We slept incredibly well in the comfortable bed, and we had all the amenities we needed and appreciated the nice touches, like candles, extra lighting, coffee/tea, etc. We also loved using the kitchen which was also stocked with supplies and the basics (salt, pepper, oil, etc). The only challenge we encountered was running out of water on the RV, the lack of hot water for the shower and sink and feeling quite cold, but again, we were there on a uniquely stormy weekend and likely wouldn't have been bothered by the above in better conditions. Otherwise, it was a perfect weekend at a very special spot we felt lucky to enjoy. We can't wait to come back with better weather!
This is an amazing site! The little kitchenette and RV basically make it so you don't have to bring anything other than food to camp (should you want to). We ended up pitching a tent anyway, and there's plenty of room to do so. The wind break circle was really nice too, as it does tend to get breezy late in the afternoon.
In the mornings, you can peek out your tent and see the rescued horses grazing behind the RV. There's a sturdy swing set next to the site that is fun too.
Portapotty is very clean as far as portapotties go, probably because it appears to be serviced every week.
Be kind -- driver slowly in to avoid dusting the neighbors, and respect the land.
