CHECK IN is 6:30 CHECK OUT is 8:AM NO DAY TIME USAGE, JUST OVERNIGHT CAMP ***THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST!!! We love our guests, without you we could not run the Sanctuary! *** This is a Quiet, safe, beautiful place to park before surf or coastal adventure.

Beautiful pristine and open fields all around, surrounded by free roaming horses. Unobstructed OCEAN/Mountan views in every direction includes light house (#1 only), open fields, horses and stars!

Offers picnic table, Porta potty, peace.

MUST BE QUIET no exploring ranch, STRICT in after 6:30PM out by 8AM. DO not disturb retreat guests or neighbors. No dogs preferred (we have free roaming dogs AND horses) - but if you have to bring your pup keep on leash and clean up after them. No trace behind camping!

THIS CAMP is purely a place to park sleep and cruise, it’s not a camp ground per se, e.g. NO FIRES, cooktop ok.

Please check our availably on the calendar on the righthand side of this page before contacting me directly. :)

PARK N SURF #1 has a better view, more space and privacy. If available, I recommend it. PARK N SURF #2 is along side and inner ranch road and a car or two may pass by from other camp. Both sites are exposed to sweet free roaming horses. Cheers!

If you’re headed up or down highway 1 and in need of a magical spot to sleep off the beaten track, this is the one! If you’re game to cook dinner on the beach before heading up for the later check in, and if you’re an early riser so you can enjoy the property before checking out early too, it’ll be the perfect spot for a dreamy sleep. The name of the ranch is perfec, it feels wild but so peaceful up there with the ocean in the distance and the gentle horses all around you on the hills.

Super awesome camp spot we have here folks! Easy to get to -- it is just about 5-10 mins off hwy 1 -- but not tooooo far off the main road, making it easy to get into camp for the night and get back on the road in the morning onto your next adventure. It is only about 30-45 minutes north on the 1 from Santa Cruz. Only 10-15 minutes north from Davenport (cute town) too! I was out there to check out USCS campus, but wanted to explore the surrounding coast a bit too. So this spot was perfect for that! Private, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. It is also really magical to see the horses doin' their thang and roamin' around. Thanks Montrese!

Quiet, secluded spot with a great view of the ocean when the fog cooperates. Despite being increasingly overcast overnight, I enjoyed a night of fresh ocean air under the full moon through eerie skyglow.

This piece of land is beautiful. It can get quite foggy in the summer though so plan accordingly. Also, note the particular check-in and check-out times: ideal for parking while on a road trip. Good coverage with Verizon in case you were wondering. I can't wait to be back, I've already booked one of the other listings which will allow us to experience the place during the day!

Not worth the price in my opinion. TONS of rules, check in was so late (my fault for not paying attention to that when deciding to book), finding the site in the dark was a bit difficult, and you’re not allowed to explore any part of the ranch, only walking to the outhouse and back is allowed. I just didn’t feel very welcome.

Hey there, Sorry you felt unwelcome! You deffinetly were. We hope and ask folks check in before dark and as described both on site description, and in communication before booking this is purely a sweet, safe place for spending night. We have regular camp sites for those looking for a more immersive camping and day-use experience, happy trails!

Perfectly acceptable campsite, but the brief check-in/out times and the convoluted directions were certainly not worth the price. There may also be public land open to camping nearby

This place is beautiful. Only complaint is the unnecessarily complicated instructions. Some basic bullet points and signage would do wonders, and the strict, detailed rules about dust and gates and horses made us very anxious about arriving.

Response from Montrese, the Host, on October 8th, 2018

Yes, the instructions are detailed because if people don't follow them things go sideways FAST from unhappy neighbors to let out horses...but if everyone knows what to do, is mindful, then you get the chance to enter into a very private and pristine place with lots of solitude and free roaming horses...off the beaten path...
