A secluded meadow with an ocean view surrounded by redwood forest is the setting for campsite #1 which can accommodate 1 tent and is close to potable water. It has the best view on the property but it can get a little windy and is within the view shed of our living quarters. Campsite #2 is on the edge of the forest next to an ancient redwood stump with a filtered ocean view and can accommodate 1 tent. Campsite #3 is a flat spot carved in the woods that can accommodate 1 tent. A short path leads you into the woods where you can take meditative walks on the network of paths and do some “forest bathing” to connect with the forest. Hang out with the goats and chickens and cook up some fresh eggs and greens from the garden. Directions: From the Bay Area take 101 North to Cloverdale. Then hop on the 128 North. When you get to Boonville you have two options. You can go over Mountain View Road if you are up for a windy, steep, 45 minute journey over the mountains. Mtn View is a paved county road and doesn’t require a 4wd vehicle or any high clearance. Any vehicle can traverse it. If you are looking for a more mellow drive, take the 128 all the way to the coast and then get on Highway 1 south. Take the 1 down to Manchester and then turn left onto Mountain View Road. It takes a bit longer but is quite a bit less intense of a drive. You can also take the coast all the way up from Santa Rosa. Just take River road west from the 101 and head north on the 1 when you get to the coast.

Staying in the coastal redwoods was an absolute delight! I left the bay a little late, but Jesse was very accommodating. He met me when I arrived and showed me the trailer (available as kitchen space), bathroom, and water. Then he led the way down a lovely little trail to the suggested campsite. I could hear the roaring ocean as I fell asleep. This is raw land and was perfect for my preferred type of camping. The ground was soft and comfy, which I appreciated since I forgot my sleeping pad..whoops! Friendly playful pup, chickens, goats, view of the ocean, and that deep redwood aroma filled my senses! After meeting the rest of the family Saturday morning, I left with a smile and deep appreciation. Beautiful people on breathtaking land! The road to get there is super intense, like a rollercoaster! I giggled and drove very slow :)

Redwood coast camping was a very peaceful place to stay. We stayed at site number 1 and loved seeing the sunset over the ocean. Jesse and family were very kind and welcoming throughout our stay. One very lovely aspect of this experience were the animals! The goats, chicken, and dog (Ranger) added to the fun and beauty of the place.

Jesse and Katrina were extremely warm and welcoming. The forest was a perfect place to camp. We enjoyed learning more about their farming practice and especially loved playing with their baby goats! We would definitely come back and stay with them again.

Jesse and Katrina greeted us with a warm welcome. During our stay they told us about their farm, and we even got to hang out with the animals! The site was great and not far from some stunning California coast line.

Wild Heart Forest Farm is a gem. We are very grateful for the peaceful time we spent this past weekend! We camped among Redwoods and enjoyed the birds flitting in the trees above our heads. Jesse and her family were most hospitable and made us feel welcome. We would definitely recommend this place to others!

My stay at Wild Heart Forest Farm was very healing and peaceful. Immediately, you can feel the soothing forces of the Redwood trees. I was greeted by Ranger, a bundle of playful energy,. Jesse and Katrina gave me a tour of the property and I was able to learn a little about their journey to creating Wild Heart Forest Farm. I camped in site 2, which was tucked more into the forest and felt nice and private. Site 1 seemed lovely, with a beautiful ocean view to wake up to and some funny farm animal neighbors. Site 3 was even more tucked away - but if you have a larger group of people, sites 2 and 3 would be a good way to camp relatively close by in the same environment. There are many beautiful tree stump remains of giant Redwoods that were logged, including a Great Grandmother that makes a really nice communal circle gathering place. Exploring the rest of the forested property was a treat throughout the day, as were hearing the bleating baby goats and clucking hens, getting visits from Ranger to play fetch, having access to a composting toilet, and feeling really safe while simultaneously being immersed in nature. I would definitely recommend staying here whether you are just passing through and need a quick overnight, or want a few days for contemplation and self care.
