My girlfriend and I were Wendy's very first hipcamp guests and you never would have known it. Wendy stayed in touch before and during our stay, checking to make sure all was well. The spot is terrific, Large shade trees (very handy in the desert), a welcoming fire pit, chairs and tables throughout the grounds, incredible privacy with nary a soul for miles, gorgeous Joshua Tree desert views and soulful RV trailer all kitted out just in case and just because. Wendy is a fun and caring host and the camp spot is just right. Also, very close to the Integratron, which a must visit. I'd visit again and recommend highly.
Wendy's spot is in a pretty remote area about 20 minutes NNW of downtown Joshua Tree. Great spot as a basecamp if you want to explore the park or check out the local sites in Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, or 29 Palms. Plenty of space to set up your tent without being on top of another Hipcamper, lots of seating and table space is provided (no need to pack that stuff), and a few great shade trees to hang out under so you can get out of the sun.
AMAZING! Such a cute RV and campsite! The campsite has this beautiful tree that is like an umbrella. The RV is decked out with cozy decor and clean linens. We wanted to live here! Wendy was the nicest and most peaceful host, she genuinely has put so much effort towards making her spot welcoming for guests who just want an awesome visit to Joshua Tree. Whether you are wanting to go on a little desert vacations with your friends or just needing some space, Wendy has the space and accommodations to make sure your trip is a success and a great memory.

Wendy was a very accommodating host and let us pitch our tents where we wanted to on her property. The kitchen has a gas/charcoal grill and lots of counter/table space so it was great for cooking up dinner and breakfast. She has two adorable dogs AND a turtle. We had a campfire at night with all the campers on the site, and the stars were pretty magical.
Don't go down Sunny Vista Rd from Reche Rd unless you have a tall, 4-wheel drive car...it is not maintained and VERY sandy. Go on Border Ave and down Moon Rd instead.
Relaxing, quiet, and beautiful! Wendy was most accommodating and the site had everything you could need!
We enjoyed our short stay at Wendy's Kick it spot. We are new to camping and was our first time. Plus we were camping with family so it was very important for us to have easy access to potable water and toilet. We reserved 4 people tent campground, (Wendy also has 2 trailers that you can reserve), all of which are clean, well maintained and organized for your convenience. It was very easy for us to navigating to her house, as we pre downloaded google maps. I highly recommend downloading maps of entire Joshua Tree NP befpre your trip as you will not get cell reception near Joshua. Even at the camp site, I got 4g one bar on AT&T but there zero T-Mobile. Wendy does offer WiFi but it doesn't work well outside.
Getting there, is pretty much off road. I'm glad I took a 4WD Vehicle. You don't need a 4x4, just don't take your small coupe or sedan, you will get stuck.
Wendy's kick it spot also offered grills, firepits all stocked with propane and wood to burn but we had brought our own wood. There is a outdoor shower that you can use. Everything seemed veru clean. Port-o-pottie was clean and didn't smell bad.
Wendy has a desert tortoise who will come visit you in the day time. We also heard some coyote's howling at night, they were far and her huge yard is fenced.
Overall, we had great time, although it gets very hot there.

My family and I along w/ 2 dogs woke up at 2am and drove >10hrs from N.Cal to Joshua Tree over President's Day weekend, only to find all the campsites were full in the entire park starting earlier in week. Desperate to find a safe shelter to tent camp, we found Wendy's place on hipcamp. She gave us clear directions over the phone.
Despite a schedule mixup for the 1st night and her place being full, she allowed us to stay and moved stuff around to find a nice cozy area for us to pitch our tent behind her house, and rearranged stuff and brought us tables and chairs to use. She was very friendly and hospitable. Port o potty was super clean and portable water hoses was a life saver, and checked in w/ us on both days to make sure our stay was comfortable. Her place is very spacious w/ cute rock and plant decorations, two RVs for special stays, lounge and picnic tables, and nice bbq area, all fenced in, and beautiful wide open space to view the stars and two fire pits. Greatly appreciated such a hospitable host.

Wendy’s kick it spot was amazing! Each camp site has its own unique perks with beautiful succulents and lounge areas. Wendy was incredibly helpful and sweet. What’s more, she has adorable friendly dogs that cuddle right up to you! Such a great little weekend and only about 30-45 minutes into Joshua tree. Plus watching the sunset form her spot is absolutely a dream! We can’t wait to stay here again.
