Quiet and peaceful
Val was super friendly, and answered all of my questions super patiently before I arrived. My only suggestions are to build up the dry creek bed so that an RV can drive over without tanks scraping, and maybe talk the dogs into sleeping later! But the canyon was absolutely beautiful and so so quiet!
Wonderful property and hosts!
This property and it’s hosts, Val and Jody, are why I love traveling!
I stayed here while on a road trip from LA to Seattle with my cat. I arrived after sunset and Val helped me navigate to the property, put out signs, and guided me to my site. I was booked to pitch a tent on the property, which I was thrilled to do. However, Val offered me a night in the tiny house she had recently converted from a TRAIN CABOOSE complete with outdoor shower!! I was beyond grateful, and my cat appreciated having a homelike environment for the night.
As wonderful as the interior of the train caboose is, I took a shower under the walnut trees and fell asleep under the stars. The sky and sounds of nature were too beautiful not to enjoy.
I love a good mix of privacy and sociability, and Val and Jody offered just that. They even showed me around the property, introduced me to the hens, and gifted me with produce from their land.
I’m looking forward to spending more time here!
This what i was looking for ...
I stayed for a couple of nights while I was passing through and wanted to mountain bike through the area. Val was fantastic. She had tons of local tidbits for me and made me feel at home. The facilities were great. I'll want to head back and bring the family. I want to try out the caboose. The group staying there said it was beautiful.
Peaceful and filled with stars
Val is my third Hip Camp host and she has been even better than the rest. On top of providing awesome directions and communication throughout the trip, she also brought us fresh eggs from her chickens sad a present. The field is very quiet and peaceful. An awesome place to star gaze!
Val was so great and helpful for checking in and making sure we were all set up. The little canyon is a beautiful spot and saw great stars and meteor shower. Easy access to Blue Lakes or Clear Lake. Highly recommend!
Awesome welcoming charming
Val was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed.
The site is perfect for social distancing. There are only 2 sites and a caboose.
Really close to the Blue lakes.
I would book that site back in a heartbeat
Wonderful camp experience!
Val and Jody were extra accommodating in tips on wine tasting and swimming in the local lakes and reservoirs. We also stayed at the caboose (an old tastefully redone railroad car Caboose). There is a tub and shower out back with hot and cold water.
