This was such a rad experience! We thought staying in a caboose would be fun, but it was so much nicer than we expected! The private outdoor tub and shower are really cool, we all enjoyed showering outside under a tree. The property is beautiful, loved the way light enters the valley in the morning, but there is shade to be found throughout the day. Val had the caboose nice and cool for our arrival, with cold surprises waiting for us in the fridge. We stayed with our two kids, Mama and big sister slept in the caboose while Papa and little sister slept on the deck out under the stars. The nighttime view of the star-studded sky was amazing, and the weather was perfect for it. We stayed here as we explored Clear Lake and Blue Lakes, and it was a great spot we look forward to staying at again. Everyone we encountered was so friendly, we can't wait to go back!
I booked a night at the caboose because I was looking last minute and nearby campgrounds were filled up. Though more pricey than a campsite the pictures made it seem worthwhile so I decided to splurge. And WOW did this place exceed my expectations.
The caboose is renovated into a dreamy studio, beautifully painted and carefully decorated. There is a Queen sized air mattress, a kitchenette, a bathroom, and room to spare. I mean, I would 100% live in this thing if I could. Then behind the caboose there is an open air shower and bathtub, from which you can look up through the branches of a walnut tree and see the expanse of stars glittering over this gorgeous valley. We spent the evening outside on the beautiful patio listening to the crickets serenading us and gazing at the milky way.
Our hosts were super welcoming, pulling up to say hello and check if we needed anything, and even brought us fresh eggs from their chickens to enjoy for breakfast the following day. We spent the day hiking through gorgeous hills and harvesting fresh blackberries which grow along the roads everywhere here. We will definitely be back. Thank you!

Staying in this caboose was an amazing and wonderful experience. It’s so well kept and Val is an AWESOME host. She’s so welcoming, warm and kind. The space is private but not so much so that you feel isolated or abandoned. It was a magical time of quiet self reflection for me. I will definitely like to come back.

Val is a wonderful host! She brought fresh eggs over from her chickens for breakfast, made sure I had everything I needed, and gave great recs for lakes in the area. The caboose itself was wonderful! The swamp cooler kept me cool, the amenities were sweet and simple, and I spent lots of time reading on the porch. It was incredibly quiet and lovely, and the outdoor tub was the best part! I will definitely be coming back soon.

The caboose is a small slice of magic. It's nestled into some of the prettiest, most secluded land, with easy access to a variety of lakes, hiking trails, and other activities. The caboose itself was even better than I had anticipated. There are so many beautiful details that make the place unique and such a comfortable place to stay. From fresh eggs and treats in the fridge, to ending the evening with a sky filled with stars, we loved every minute of our stay. Bonus points that the place was immaculate, and Val takes great care to ensure the health of her guests.
So cool! The Caboose was extremely clean, air conditioned, well stocked with any/all essentials and the bed was more comfy than our own. Val was welcoming to us (and our 3 dogs!) She let us know we could reach out if we felt we needed anything to feel more comfortable. I especially appreciate her understanding of wanting to travel with your dogs. I get it how easy it would be not allow dogs and avoid the extra hassle of cleaning etc but she is trusting that guests will be responsible and respectful while traveling with their fur-babies.
What a fantastic Hipcamp! Such a unique and lovely place to stay in the summer. The outside bath tub and shower are fantastic and the hosts are the best: thank you so much, it was perfect!
We had a great time! The caboose was so much fun for both kids and adults. Enough space for an extra queen inflatable mattress. Val’s property is beautiful and she’s a natural camp host. She was very attentive and we had great chats! Caboose stayed relatively cool even in the middle of the heatwave. Outdoor shower and bath tub were so great and provided very much needed cooling. Starry sky (Milky Way included) was definitely a highlight!

Thank you Alessandro I ordered up that night sky especially for you I hope to see you again happy trails
I felt very welcome and really enjoyed my stay, I plan to visit again in the future. Great place to unwind. Privacy or social options with other campers.
