Host refused to follow COVID-19 social distancing rules or wear a mask. Site was not as advertised and would not accommodate the sleeping arrangements listed. When we arrived, she had already given the place to another guest and had to vacate them, but didn’t clean in between. She refused to acknowledge her error or cancel the booking. This is an unsafe, dirty, squalid place operated by a shady character with seemingly no remorse or sense of responsibility.

This place was amazing! Basically a micro-scale version of one of California's hot springs resorts, minus the sulfur and a third of the cost.

Cozy rustic cabins? ☑️
Communal cooking area? ☑️
Outdoor tub to soak in? ☑️
Super hot sauna? ☑️
Garden to sit in with your morning coffee? ☑️

Plus right between Eureka and Arcata so it feels nice and quiet while being a 5 minute drive from both. Hosts were friendly and responsive. Absolutely would recommend, perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Super cute, eclectic cabins! Homey touches all over, common kitchen area was clean and well equipped, and the bed was super comfy. The sauna was really nice as well, with beach access just a few blocks away.

Be sure to communicate with the host via the app, as the address listed on the app was nearby but not exact. The app makes it really simple to message, which I would recommend using.

Brittny was a very welcoming and friendly host, and the cabin was cozy and clean. The sauna is a definite plus, especially since you can soak in the tub and hear the ocean in the background. It's definitely a unique place and exactly it's described on the site. I would highly recommend!

The cabin is cute and compact. We were there during a cold winter storm and the cabin was not well-equipped for those conditions. Minimal insulation and the electric wall heater had little effect warming the cabin. Maybe good for a summer stay, but not great in the cold.

This place is awesome! Our cabin was cute and cozy, the garden, sauna, and tub are all bonuses on top. Brittny is a great host, too, super friendly and attentive. Thanks!

Sauna Camp was lovely, though there were some quirks. The room we stayed in was cute, with a double bed downstairs and double bed upstairs. There was no way to lock the door when we left, which meant we had to either take all our stuff with us or leave it in the room unlocked. The shower is a tub with a handheld shower head - plenty of hot water, but not your typical shower. Britney was a very nice host, but she did not wear a mask and in covid times it was a little uncomfortable to share both a bathroom and shower with all the other guests. She also would have guests come in that were not staying at the campsite for massages/sauna who were unmasked, so the site is not totally private. I would stay again for a quick overnight stop on a road trip, but I don't think I would return for a multi-day stay.
