Voted 2nd BEST HIPCAMP in the state of California!!! Come camp next to our pond under breathtaking stars located in beautiful Carrisa Plains California.

- We are located about 1 hour east of Paso Robles California a short drive off highway 58 and about 1.5 hours west of Bakersfield. Carrisa Plains is known for its beautiful display of wild flowers in the spring time, incredible sunny days, and spectacular wildlife viewing.

- The ranch is also located a short 29 min drive from the Carrizo Plain National Monument and Las Padres National Forest. Tule elk, prog horn antalope, black tail deer, and valley quail are just some of the animals you may encounter on our ranch. The pond is full of fish so don’t forget your poles.

- At our pond camp we have several large shades along with many picnic tables, benches, and chairs scattered around the site. Bring your own tent, car, or RV and pick your own camp site as there is a lot of space. There are several fire pits along with a large community bbq pit. We also have beautiful 2 stall hot water showers, and three stall restroom including handicap stall. The summer days can get pretty toasty and the winter nights can get very chilly so check the weather before your stay and plan accordingly.

- Also please note before booking: Each Tent requires 1 campsite at $40. Additional tents must book their own site.

- Also please note we are located an hour from the nearest town, no stores or gas stations. Please come fully equipped with your own cooking utensils, food & beverages.

- Check In is after 2pm, and no later than 10pm. Check Out is 11am.

The amenities are great. 3 clean bathrooms, cooking area with grill, large covered picnic area, multiple chimneys with seating, canoe, row boat, paddle boats, 2 showers, horseshoes. It’s in the middle of no where, but we drove 1.5 hours into SLO to go to the beach.

The pond is a little slice of heaven. Bathrooms were cleaner than ours at home. Communal kitchen and tables were great and made meal times easy. Our 4 and 6 year olds loved running around and looking for frogs. Glorious pine trees to camp next to. It was a wonderful camping experience!

We had an awesome trip at Twisselman Pond. It was nice for group camping with 3 families and we were shown around by the hosts and they had a lot of extras there including a sink and bbq for us to use, paddle boats to put around the pond in, fire pits, a trough pool, which was awesome, and the kids had a great time fishing and walking the dogs. We also got amazing sunrises and sunsets, and a TON of stars at night! Glad we brought our telescope. We will definitely be back again!
