Shamballa Cabin is an 800 sq. foot hand crafted rustic log post beam cottage. It resides on a  200 acre developing eco-preserve retreat center in development. It has a simple 'glamping style kitchen' fully stacked and functional yet rustic.  Located in the Sierra Mountains approx. 2 hours from Sacramento and 3-4 hours from San Francisco at the 4000 foot elevation winters can be wet with potential snows of over 3 feet. Add an hour or so if traffic is heavy.

It has a wood stove for winter use necessary to keep warm with many potential snows, typically foreseeable, and cool mornings during spring and fall.

The cabin comes with ample firewood stacked inside with extra on the front and back decks.

Up until May 1 we will need to charge an additional firewood rate of $20 per day for firewood usage. Cabins typically use $25 to $45 worth of firewood per nite and we absorb the difference. Payment due upon arrival or the next day.

The kitchen is equipped with small counter kitchen featuring a stainless mini- refrigerator,  2 burner propane camp stove,  cookware, dishes, silver ware,  and various other kitchen items.

It does not have indoor plumbing.

Showers and a flush toilet is located at bathhouse in  main lodge 1 minute away. A clean 2 stall outhouse is nearby the cabins.

Shamballa cabin has a Queen LOG BED in the back bedroom, and a large custom King size Bali bed across the windowed woodstove, perfect for viewing and romantic evenings

Weber grill is available , you bring the charcoal!

A stainless steel min-fridge come in handy during the long hot summers. It does not have an indoor bathroom but close by is a clean 2 stall outhouse and near by are flush toilets and showers in the main house but 150 feet away.

Shamballa cabin is near 2 other cabins, Geronimo Cabin and Trinity cabin, yet privately secluded and but for the master bedroom, Shamballa cabin is almost complete. As it is, it has one bedroom with a queen log bed, a hand crafted Thai king bed near the fire place a large living room/living space and a rustic, glamping style kitchen which is fully functional but simple. as is it can sleep 4 in the 2 separate beds but will have another bedroom finished soon.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Shamballa cabin. We wanted a getaway that was quiet, immersed in the forest, comfortable and had access to wifi if we needed it. The Shamballa ticked all of those boxes.

There are three cabins total, but we felt secluded and private. There is a clean outhouse as well as access to a flushing toilet and a hot shower at the main house which we appreciated.

The property is very peaceful, we were able to fully relax and felt safe and comfortable. The cabin was very spacious and it stayed cool, which was wonderful in the middle of July. I imagine it being warm and cozy in the winter time. The bed was super comfortable which is a great bonus! The Shamballa is still under some construction, but that didn't have a negative effect on us at all, it will be even nicer and more spacious once completed.

We definitely plan on returning for a forest retreat again soon. Thank you Adam!

Thank you kindly Midhun for such a fire review. We have put our hearts and souls into creating a sanctuary and retreat center. To walk the land and enjoy the natural beauty is very healing and catching a glimpse of a wild fox, deer or bobcat is always inspiring. Do come again - we look forward to it. Adam
