Serenity Cabin is a handcrafted 1 & 1/2 bedroom, 600-square foot hand hewn beam cabin on a 200 acre eco-preserve.  Elegant in its simplicity it measures, 20 x 30 has covered porches on the front and back inviting relaxation amongst the trees. Arapaho meadow is in front with trailheads to wander across the private eco-preserve acres. It is our most private cabin and is 200 feet across the meadow from the other 3 cabins.

In winter it is preferred renters to this cabin have an all wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicle, but necessary in summer.

A wood walkway boardwalk takes you across  Arapaho Meadow to the outhouse and guest bathroom with showers and flush toilets in the main house.

Across Arapaho meadow is where our Geronimo Cabin, Shamballa cabin and a third Trinity cabin reside.

The kitchen has a simple glamping style kitchen equipped with a slab countertop, featuring a stainless mini-refrigerator,  2 burner propane camp stove,  cookware, dishes, silver ware, and minimal other kitchen items. It does not have indoor plumbing. Showers and flush toilet at Bathhouse in main house. Clean 2 stall outhouse across the boardwalk and by the other cabins.

As of now it has a queen log bed is perfect for 2 and there is a smaller fold out twin bed good for a child or adult in the adjacent reading room. It will be a second bedroom in the near future.

The cabin is heated with a windowed wood stove and will keep the cabin warm even in the coldest weather as long as it is resourced intelligently with firewood every hour or so.

Outside there is picnic table with a simple charcoal BBQ,  a fire pit and misc. chairs for family gathering. Water hose nearby for safety. We charge $10. per nite for cabin firewood provided inside with ample kindling.  Gather firewood used in the pit freely which is plentiful on the grounds or take cabin firewood at $10per pale . Fires allowed outside only when fire season is over so be safe and responsible.

Walking this 200 acre eco-preserve is exhilarating and harmonizing to body, mind and spirit. The land is inviting, private, and resides on a large developing Retreat Center. Surrounded by thousands of areas of the Tahoe National Forest and a mere 5 miles from Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park.

Serenity cabin lives up to it’s name. Located in a private meadow, it’s the perfect get away! The cabin has all kitchen amenities you could need. The bonfire pit was great at night and we cooked all of our dinners there. There were some nice smaller hikes around the property with nice views. The other cabins are across the meadow and you can barley see them. You do walk past them on the way to the indoor bathroom/shower located off of the main house. It was clean and functional. Adam was a kind & generous host and we are glad we got to meet him upon our arrival.

View of the meadow from the bonfire pit. View of the cabin from across the meadow. The boardwalk leads to the bathroom & other cabins.

Our stay in the Serenity Cabin was outstanding! The cabin is gorgeous and cozy with everything you need. It’s super private as it sits across the meadow from the other 3 cabins. Very relaxing to sit outside around the fire pit and read while listening to the many birds. We couldn’t have asked for a better get away for our 20th anniversary. Our dog had a blast running through the meadows playing find a fetch with his ball and hiking the trails all around the land which is absolutely beautiful! Great swimming isn’t far away. Top 10 favorite places we’ve been!

you know its great to hear you both enjoyed it so much. I enjoyed building it and made sure I built it in a place that had a real wilderness feel with privacy and 'serenity'. Do come again and tell your husband who is also a carpenter that I appreciate his appreciation.

We rented Trinity, Serenity, and Shamballa for a family cabin trip. Serenity is perfect for those that want a little more privacy, since it's the only cabin of the four that's by itself. The other three are in a row. There's a nice shortcut through the meadow that shortens the distance from Serenity to the other cabins if you need to go back and forth.
