Bob was an excellent host and was very quick to respond to questions and give feedback. As a 1st time HipCamp user, he also generously offered some tips about booking that were super helpful. He has put a lot of work into creating a welcoming, well thought space for folks to come out and enjoy his land. The website he made to support The Preserve is excellent-extremely informative and very comprehensive. We added the GeoLodge structure onto our reservation so we could enjoy it for my daughter’s birthday. The hangout space has a couple cozy spots for pets to hang out while you cook your meals. We were self sufficient so did not take advantage of all that GeoLodge and The Preserve offered, but it was so nice to have spaces carved out to hang out. The hammock was awesome and so peaceful. My 5 year old took a snooze while we rocked. I’ve already recommended the site to my brother’s for future dirt bike trips as we saw groups putting around, exploring. If you are towing any trailers in, make sure you have temporarily removed the leveling jack from your trailer unless you have a lot of clearance. Bob gave full disclosure of what to expect on the Drive in, with video links of the road, etc. but we still were overconfident towing a small, light trailer with our minivan. We sorted it out though and still had a great time.
The land was obviously used for lots of clay shooting, tin can popping, etc, before he acquired it so wear your closed toe shoes. In time and with visitor help (I’m looking at you, HipCampers 😉) , I’m confident the shards and small shooting debris will be cleaned up. Bring an extra trash bag to help out when you pack up to go home. To be clear, the place is rad. We will be back for another visit! Thanks, Bob- The Preserve is awesome!
Great spot with ton of amenities. A great place tp get away or go in groups. Would and will definitely return here.
Awesome place and a great host! Bob has a beautiful place and creats an amazing and relaxing environment. I was hesitant to write a review hoping to keep this hidden gem to myself but that would not be right
Incredible camp!!! The view of the stars is unmatched and the geodome was well worth the add on. Can’t wait to come back already!
