The vibe at The Rainbow Studio
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our recent stay here at The Rainbow Studio was such a pleasant one! I was traveling with a couple girlfriends and this place was such a fun, upbeat atmosphere! But along with the bright, fun colors and decor came a quiet, peaceful escape. The fountian on the front patio provided a perfect place for some laid back girl talk and appetizers in the evening, and the bright rainbow table and chairs on the main patio was a perfect spot to enjoy the early morning fog and cool mist. Perhaps the greatest aspect of this property is the massive garage type door that opens up, leaving you feeling as though you're indoors and outdoors all at once. The two just meld into each other to create such a cohesive, relaxing environment. Despite being on the bottom floor with other living quarters above, this studio feels completely private, encapsulated in lush greenery everywhere you look.
The amenities inside the studio leave you wanting for nothing- a plush, comfortable queen bed, a pull out sofa, cozy robes in the closet, a full equipped kitchen with any cooking accompaniment you may have forgotten, a fully stocked first aid station, a list of nearby restaurants and hiking options, wifi, a coffee/tea station and so on... There are also so many unique, quirky details throughout the studio that you will find yourself appreciating throughout your stay.
The host Bill was amazing as well- so warm and friendly. It's worth having a chat with about the rich history of this wonderful place if you have a chance to meet him. He has put his heart and soul into these creative spaces and that is abundantly clear when you visit his space.
Also worth noting is this place is best suited for a quiet, relaxing stay. Its up in the mountains, bringing an instant feeling of calm when you arrive. But keep in mind that there are neighbors close by and sound carries so it is best to plan for a calm, quiet stay. I would say its best suited for couples, or friends/family looking for a quiet escape from the city.
Overall I would say this is a wonderful property rich in creativity and ambiance and worth a stay for sure!
Needing to getaway from the LA city life? This is your spot.
Being just 30 minutes from Santa Monica a couple girlfriends and I booked the studio for a girls weekend. It couldn't have been more perfect. The sound of trickling water from the fountains and birds singing in the morning make this colorful spot that much more brighter. The garage door opens up to the patio with a wonderful view of the sunset over the mountains and the kitchen is fully stocked to cook up any dinner or make some mean mojitos. A short drive out of town, there are small local markets but make sure to stop at a larger grocery store before Topanga for more affordable and wider variety of options.
Topanga is a sweet little town with wonderful hikes surrounding and good farm to table food options. Just 15 minutes from the valley, you're not far from a busier civilization but the noise and the hubbub doesn't penetrate the Topanga bubble of beautiful greenery and the sound of nature.
I'd highly recommend The Rainbow Studio for anybody looking for a quiet, relaxing night.
