The Pioneer's Penthouse
The Pioneer's Penthouse is a truly magical place to camp. I went to the penthouse with two of my close friends for New Year's Eve -- we even had a full moon! The tent had very comfortable bedding, pillows, and blankets, and snacks and wine were waiting for us. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and were quick to answer questions. Also, we did not have trouble finding the place. We highly, highly recommend the Pioneer's Penthouse! Thank you!!

Absolutely loved staying at the Pioneer's Penthouse! I hadn't explored Temecula's wine country before, and had a lovely time getting out into the wilderness. The yurt was adorable and very cozy and we were thankful for all of the camping tools and cooking things provided. Loved hearing all of the birds and spotted a few jack rabbits in the morning.

Yes, do it, go for it, you wont regret it. I had no expectations when booking The Pioneers Penthouse but when I got there my mind was blown. It was the best camping experience I have ever had. The tent is so cool, you will never want to leave. They provide games, books, tons of blankets and pillows. They also supply you with cookware, dishes, paint supplies, lanterns, it's incredible. You will feel safe and secluded up in the mountains of Temecula. My dog absolutely loved it. I didn't want to leave. It's a camping paradise.

Really beautiful views, perfect campsite with almost everything you need and solitude. What more could you want!? The host is super thoughtful, and provides simple luxuries. While there are many amenities, this still very much feels like camping. I highly recommend the Pioneer Penthouse to anyone who loves to be outside in SoCal.

super romantic and cozy, it was really cold outside but there were plenty of blankets to ensure we stayed warm along with some snacks, water, games, and books. would definitely stay again!!

This was the perfect getaway for my birthday weekend! Everything looked like it was straight out of a magazine. The bed was incredibly comfortable, there was the perfect lookout to watch the sunrise and sunset, and the stargazing was impeccable! My pup loved it too! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a picturesque getaway! Thank you so much!

A beautifully decorated site with a very aesthetically pleasing touch. Great for adventuring open land and wine tasting is only a couple miles away. The hosts were very courteous and non-intrusive.

This place is MAGICAL. I live in Los Angeles and it's just what my husband and I needed; a breathe of fresh air! This place provides EVERYTHING you need. It had blankets, candles, lighters, books, cooking utensils, chairs, the list goes on. It's the cutest place ever I was obsessed with the decor. The host have put their heart into this place and you can tell! My favorite part was the set up with the paint and canvas... you can get artistically creative in the mountains. I seriously can't write another paragraph about how much my husband and I loved this place. We will definitely be back.

The Pioneer's Penthouse
This place is beyond beautiful and unique! It's perfectly located around amazing wineries for you to check out. The location is gorgeous with rolling hills overlooking Temecula Valley. The sunsets are epic! The setup itself is so detailed and beautifully decorated. They've taken care of every detail and its even more amazing in person! The décor has changed a little so I first thought I had the wrong tent, but still tastefully done. The hosts are really sweet and the grounds are well taken care of. If a wedding was ever in my future, this place would be number one. Definitely a nice romantic getaway for the adventurous soul. Thank you for such an unforgettable weekend! I'm already looking forward to my next stay!

Everything was fantastic. Very quite area with plenty of privacy - perfect for a romantic 'glamping' experience. Close to Temecula wineries and old front street. Host was extremely accommodating, responsive and professional. Will be back soon!

This is the most romantic, cutest campsite I have ever stayed at (& my boyfriend and I are pretty avid campers!)!! We booked this to celebrate my birthday and stay after horse back riding and wine tasting all day. The sunset from the top of the hill was so beautiful and we were so blown away by all of the sweet little details of the campsite (camp table all set up with a picnic basket w/ hot cocoa, coffee, cooking utensils) and inside the tent was even cuter. They were so sweet and left me a birthday card & bottle of wine which we thought was so thoughtful and sweet!! We anticipated it would get pretty chilly at night (and it was, especially with the high wind advisory!), but they had tons of warm blankets to keep us warm. I won't give away too many of the cute little campsite details because you'll just have to see for yourself! But keep in mind even though the tent and campsite are set up for you, I definitely reccomend to bring some basic camping stuff with you (headlamps, washing water, TP). They supply a lot but it is still camping and we were happy we were prepared for that! All in all it was PERFECT!!!!! Thank you Chari and Craig for a great stay!

Everything is incredible!! Be prepared for a wonderful stay. Gorgeous scenery and only minutes from delicious Temecula red wines! Just bring a thick mattress pad for two - as the bed is only a twin and only fits one person. It’s too bad they don’t either replace it with a full or just opt for no bed at all inside. Four and a half stars!! This was our second stay and we will be back for many more!

Very cute and quaint spot close to the wineries!! The host was very friendly and accomodating. We went on a very hot weekend so we headed over to the wineries to beat the heat, but overall would highly recommend.

This is a great spot!! We stayed in the pioneer tent, but there is also plenty of space to set up your tent if preferred. Lovely little spot to relax and star gaze :) Our steaks turned out perfectly on the stove!

Amazing vibe and welcoming hosts. Chari went above and beyond to show us a warm welcome and shared a few tips and tricks . Truly a sunset atop 3 tree hill I won't soon forget ....keep the lantern on Chari- we will be back!!!

What an amazing experience! All I can do is echo the praise and joy felt by every other camper who's experienced this awesome site! Chari and her husband were the most gracious and accommodating hosts. They had endless recommendations from food, fishing, horseback riding, and where to make my husbands dream come true... where to meet some goat friends! I felt so grateful to have experienced this campsite. There are endless hiking trails, materials to make your own sage bundles, and an art area to draw/paint on the site itself. I can't recommend highly enough!

Romantic quaint little camp. Few minutes away from wineries and a great way to end the day relaxing.
Plenty of blankets and pillows available and the tent could not be more comfortable. Definitely will return!

This place is a little slice of heaven! Only a few minutes drive to a plethora of wineries, but yet far enough out that you feel the silence. The set up is very cozy. We spent three days here and loved every minute of it. Please note though that as soon as the hot sun goes down it can get very cold! We luckily brought extra bedding, but they do also have some extra blankets in a chest at the location. We found we were more comfortable with a heavy comforter we brought instead. The bed very firm as it's not a real mattress. If you need a softer bed I'd recommend bringing your own blow up. Such a great place to stay! We will definitely come back.

Had an amazing experience with my family of 4 at the Pioneer Penthouse. This was the perfect spot to unplug, relax and unwind. My wife loved the tent and I enjoyed cooking dinner and breakfast over the vintage wood stove. Although the temperature was on the low side, there were plenty of blankets to keep us all warm. I recommend the sunrise view with the hot air balloons, and the sunset from the top of the hill is a must. We will definitely be coming back!

Even better than advertised! This peaceful haven is private, lush, clean, views in every direction and such a funky, rustic, bohemian vibe. Loved every second of my stay - will definitely recommend to friends.

My boyfriend and I had the best time at the camp site! We watched the sun set from the top of the hills, we cooked dinner over the fire and played cards on the bed until the candles burned down. We are already planning another trip back!

Second time camping here and already planning our 3rd trip! Really cool spot and completely worth the drive from Venice Beach. The first time my husband surprised me since I had never before been wine tasting or camping and this time I got to surprise a couple of my friends with the same experience for the super moon. I had texted the owner before hand letting her know there would be four of us and Sheri went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. When we arrived there were not only piles of clean and nicely folded Mexican, hand woven and even Moroccan blankets on the bed and around the tent like the last time I came, but she had even put in several large lamb fur rugs, water bottles, little games and even provided us with a little boombox to play music. We passed her and her husband working on their fence as we left to go get ice for the cooler and they waived us down, offered us some beer (which we gladly took) and went and got ice from their freezer for us to save us a trip. We were blown away by their hospitality. Even though the campsite doesn't have a bathroom and we were prepared for that, they offered up their home's to us if we wanted. We didn't take them up on their offer, but even that kind gesture blew us away. Great spot, cool views - especially at sunset, lots of things to do and love the owners - oh and their lab puppy dog too. Thumbs up all around.

I loved it! It did seem more like it was Glamping on the site, and ended up really being camping. I was not prepared for that, but luckily the owners were there and were very nice. They brought us everything we needed! Just know that it is camping, so no running water, etc!

Cutest little setup. 15 min drive to tons of wineries, beautiful light in the early mornings and at sunset. Chari does an incredible job making guests feel like they won't get cabin fever (tent fever?)-- hand drawn map to different areas on the property, instructions and materials to forage and make your own sage & herb bundles, etc. Really sweet personal touch! If sleeping more than 2, bring TONS OF BLANKETS to pad floor of tent as it's a hard foundation that feels more like concrete than dirt. Go with friends you are comfortable with as there are no bathrooms/ running water! :)

The tent is decorated beautifully, we didn't want to touch a thing for fear of messing up how perfect everything looked! The single bed was surprisingly comfortable and the tent was stocked with plenty of blankets, a sleeping-pad, and all the essential necessities to ensure we'd have a cozy night.
You get amazing 360º views from the hilltops, and when the sun sets you'll be shocked by how many stars you can see. We had a hard time retiring to the tent for bed - we wanted to stay up all night counting shooting stars and staring up in awe!
If you're looking for a laid back glamping experience this is the place for you! Our stay was PERFECTION.
