The vibe at The Fire Pit
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
I loved it here! The fire pit is super cool. Such a chill place to just hang out and enjoy the heat after the sun sets. There is an outhouse and what the host called a "summer shower" because it only has cold water. The host was super nice and accommodating and even let me hook up to power so I could keep warm with my heater :) It's very close to town and a short drive to the National Park. She has future plans to make the property even better, can't wait to see when it's complete! Definitely recommend.
The Fire Pit itself is pretty neat, and would be cool for hanging with a group of friends. There are several sites right next to one another (2-3) directly behind the pit, and the residence of the host. You will certainly experience peace and quiet at night, and a black night sky, but this is not a space for feeling secluded. Peace and quiet, but not super private. *Disclosure: we booked this site and did not stay the night as we found a spot within the park. Although we didn't stay, the hosts were still friendly and offered advice for things in the area.
The fire pit was really cozy and cool and rebecca was a freat host! She was kind and checked in to see if we needed anything from time to time. Just as an FYI since I didn’t gather this from the description - this is a shared campsite, so there will be other groups there and the fire pit is like a common area in a hostel!
Very hospitable and friendly hosts. The site was a bit hard to find at night, but Rebecca came outside and directed me to the right place. Loved the underground fire pit because we could hide from the wind! Highly recommend if you're planning on going into Joshua Tree National Park, too, as it's super close.
Great find after an unsuccessful search for a site within Joshua Tree National Park. Rebecca promptly replied to our questions and was there to greet us upon arrival.
I would caution families with young children - there was a lot of broken glass at our site, and also many hazards throughout the property that required constant supervision/hand holding. But with that said, the kids loved it - especially the fire pit.
All in all, The Fire Pit was a great place to rest our heads after a long day of driving. Thanks!
Fire pit is awesome and keeps you out of the wind. The hosts are very nice people and provide plenty of firewood. If I go back to Joshua Tree ill camp at The Fire Pit even if there is room in the park.
