Welcome to the Enchanted Forest Retreat! We are a meditation retreat center with 45 acres of some of the most gorgeous redwoods in the Santa Cruz mountains to enjoy hiking, creeks and small water fall exploration, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, star gazing, relaxation, meditation and more.

Our campground has running water from a natural spring, Men and Women's Restrooms each with 2 toilets and 1 hot water shower, laundry shed with sink and hot water, plugs for charging phones, one BBQ outside of the kitchen, and an outdoor amphitheater. We have meditation teaching at the amphitheater and campers are welcomed to attend for free.

25 minutes to Silicon Valley - 25 minutes to Santa Cruz Boardwalk we're centrally located in the south bay. Dogs and kids are welcome - dogs must be picked up after and kept on a leash if other campers are present.

Please note:  This is camping - there may be bugs, critters, dirt, unpredictable weather (pack for the cold, just in case - we get surprise fog often!), early sunrise, no cell data, etc etc. It's not the Hilton - but it is gorgeous. ;)

Shopping such as Safeway, Costco and the big box stores are 20 minutes away in Soquel; however, we have a charming little market (Summit Center) 3.5 miles away that has a great selection of groceries, drinks and hot foods, etc.

There are 6 (6 person) sites available in a separate listing plus this group site (up to 16 people). Please contact us if you're interested in renting for any events.

While we are not strictly ADA compliant but the facilities should be able to host most. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we'll help however we can!

NOTICE REGARDING RVs and TRAILERS:  While we can not offer hookups, theoretically we have no problem with RVs - the reason we state we don't allow them is that the road is dirt and steep in a couple of places getting down to the campground and VERY narrow in one spot (10ft).  Our concern is that your RV and/or trailer will not make it down without damage and/or not make it back up at all!  If you feel you're willing to take this risk (we won't be held liable), you're welcome to reach out to us and we can see what is possible.

Group Site - Can fit 12-ish tents.  We highly recommend you drop off your gear and park cars in the overflow area to maximize living space for larger groups.  Please limit to 6 cars.  Has 2 picnic tables.

Other Listing:

Site #1 - Well shaded.  Distant from other sites.  Room for 1 car.  An additional car can be parked in the overflow area. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #2 - Well shaded.  The most private of our sites.  Room for 1 car.  An additional car can be parked in the overflow area. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #3 - Well shaded, 2-level terraced site.  Fairly private but close to Site #4, if you are a group looking to be nearer to one another.  Room for 1 car.  An additional car can be parked in the overflow area. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #4 - Well shaded, 2-level terraced site.  Fairly private but close to Site #3, if you are a group looking to be nearer to one another.  Room for 1 car.  An additional car can be parked in the overflow area. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #5 - Very open, sunny and scrubby site.  Some shade in the morning as the early sun is rising and then very sunny the remainder of the day.  Room for 2 cars. Could be private or grouped with Sites 3 & 4. Has 1 picnic table.

Site #6 - A 2-level, mostly shaded site hidden amongst the trees, not far from 5 but feels very private.  Room for 2 cars.  Has 1 picnic table.

Awesome group campground. Beautiful property, full of redwoods, nice little creek, heard tons of owls. The group site is right next to an awesome amphitheater in a circle of redwoods. There is a nice cooking/eating area. All of the details, like shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower, were thoughtful and made the whole experience amazing. Would 100% come back again anytime.

Great host and campsite! The group site was perfect, tucked away in the redwoods with plenty of shade, a legit bathroom for men/women, and even a kitchen to clean cookware afterwards. The other campsites were spread out just right, so you still feel a sense of privacy. We loved it and will be back!

This spot is the hidden gem you’re looking for! The property is expansive, surrounded by redwoods, and a beautiful short hike to a creek. We took our 4 small children ages 1,3,3, and 6. The group camp spot is fantastic for socially distanced camping with other friends or families with plenty of space. The common areas for cooking, cleaning, and the bathrooms are very clean and well kept. Maraia was a perfect host. She responded quickly to questions, came by upon our arrival and gave us tips on hikes, and then gave us our space to enjoy ourselves for the duration of the trip. Thank you, thank you for the much needed retreat from the craziness of the world.

Maraia is awesome!

The campground is nice! Perfect for grounds and kids. The hike to the stream was cool, I would recommend bringing a wagon for the kids though.

Big open space for a group surrounded by gorgeous redwoods with 2 picnic tables and a hose at the site. Mostly shady, which was fantastic on arrival day (93 degrees) and cooler the next 2 days (60's-70's). There is an amazing amphitheater attached to the site! It's near the clean bathrooms and communal kitchen. Lovely hiking down to a creek or small waterfall. The site itself can easily be seen into by other campers, but there aren't very many of them. Overall, the place feels safe and private enough. We had a great relaxing time. Definitely recommend the Enchanted Forest!

This is a beautiful place to camp. There is water, bathrooms, showers, and a cook shed. The land is gorgeous, the hosts are lovely. Things to know: it gets colder than you think it might with some fog in the evenings in the summer. Plan appropriately. The road in is bumpy and if you have a low slung car, I would not recommend it. Overall a magical spot!

Response from Jessica, the Host, on July 20th, 2020

HI Jayme, thanks for the nice review! I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves and yes - the road is getting chewed up a bit from the increased traffic - working on finding a solution and will hopefully get it handled soon! Come back anytime!

Paradise not too far from home

July 21st, 2020

I enjoyed our July group site camping experience so much that I booked another soon after arriving home. It was incredibly peaceful and there was plenty for the 5 kiddos in our ‘social bubble’ to explore nearby.

We hiked to the creek and found a little piece of paradise to splash around in. The walk was manageable for 5 year olds without complaining but a little too much for a 3 year old.

I liked that social distancing and mask wearing were compulsory and that other campers were considerate of the requirements in group areas. We managed to not need the kitchen area but saw families enjoying the BBQ and outdoor dining area.

Maraia dropped by to say hi and was very friendly.

Thank you for giving us an outdoor space to leave the pandemic life behind for a few days.
