On the North East end of Morongo Valley, just about a half mile in on a dirt road, this desert oasis is a truly special property with amazing views and abundant desert wildlife and flora.

The property is tucked into a canyon in the far corner of the valley and boasts 100 year old cottonwood trees.  You know you're in a special place in the desert when you find cottonwood trees!

It's a quiet and peaceful escape from city life.  Ideally situated between Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, this is the perfect home base location for visiting the surrounding area.

Come stay for Coachella Valley Music Festival, Stage Coach, Palm Springs, Modernism Week, the Hwy 62 Art Tours, Joshua Tree Music Festival or any of the many events happening in the area year long.   Or make it a stargazing trip.  Check Google for 'moon phases'.  For the best view of the stars, you'll want to visit when the moon is NOT in the night sky, although your surroundings will be just as magical if it is!

With only 25 minutes from Palm Springs and 35 minutes to Joshua Tree National Park, you've hit the tri-fecta when staying in this magical valley.  And Pioneer Town and Pappy & Harriet's are just a wonderfully scenic 20 minute drive away.  Pioneer Town is full of fantastic history and photo ops for an early evening stroll before entering the rustic and friendly 'Pappy's' for some of the best food and live music in the Morongo Basin.  An intimate environment in a creative rustic space where Paul McCartney played for a crowded house in 2016 to 300 locals and visitors alike at an impromptu mid-week concert.  There are great memories to be had in the desert!  Let's make some!!!

Nearby you will also find great hiking, horseback riding, hot springs, bird watching, Big Morongo Canyon Preserve and much more. Come see for yourself!

Highly recommended! Aside from being a great campsite with everything you need, the Desert Rose is tons of fun and you can tell Rosemarie has put a lot of work into it. There are a couple refrigerators and a grill that you can use, and the communal areas are well lit and organized. Rosemarie’s also a very fun and cool lady, she’s got some great stories about her time and experiences in the area and she’s always available to help you find the perfect campsite or recommend day hikes and other activities. Look no further, book it!

Had a great trip to Joshua Tree area with a stay at Desert Rose Collective. Got a camp spot towards the edge of the property away from the central hub/facilities which gave us privacy and felt like were out on our own in the desert. Short walk to the toilet, water, and dish washing facilities. Rosemarie was a great host - she showed us around, brought us a fire pit and table, and checked in each day to see if we needed anything. Would recommend a stay if you're visiting Joshua Tree area.

We had a good experience here, host was very nice and showed us around to pick our spot. Nice bathroom set up, a few sites with big bushes for privacy with surrounded mountain views. Really dark area, perfect for star gazing. The area is not to far from Joshua tree national park.. Near by neighbors were quite. But could sometimes hear the dogs barking at noise, didnt keep me up. Lots of cute bunny's running around. As we were not planned to camp hear, cause we were in big bear with no luck we had to look for another campsite fast last minute. We also like the surrounding areas by the campsite like palm springs and Joshua Tree, Really glad Rosemarie was able to respond to my booking quickly and accepting us on a sunday evening.
Thanks again for the nice hospitality 😃

This campsite was lovely! Had an awesome communal space with an outdoor kitchen, bar, fire pit, seating, etc. the aesthetic was so cool as well. Rosemarie has curated a magical little desert space. There were options to be close to other campers and the communal space, or options to be a little bit more private and set up camp in the back of the property. We opted for a more private spot and it was great. Rosemarie was a wonderful and helpful host. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Desert Rose Collective is a charming desert outpost. We appreciated Rosemarie’s warm reception and hospitality throughout our stay. While we veer toward privacy when we camp, we were drawn to the communal space at night, and enjoyed interacting with other guests in this colorful landscape and stress-free environment. Thank you, Rosemarie!

We went there as 2 families including 4 adults and 3 kids. We stayed 2 nights on April at Site #2. It was about 70 feet from main area which included kitchen, restroom, main fire place, and etc. The site was very private and big enough to build 2 big tents. There is no fire pit at the site but Rosemarie kindly informed us that we could use our own. The main area was maintained well and it was nice to have dishwash sink, refrigerator, restroom, and shower. There is a nice and easy OHV area about 20 min away if you like. At night, it was quiet and was able to see many stars.

We would like to go back sometime soon!
