DROWN FIRE WHEN YOU LEAVE. :) We are in process of building our first off-the-grid cabin and will be there for a week or two randomly to build. The grounds are clean and there is plenty of space to enjoy and create beautiful experiences with your friends. Matt and I (Jeff) and my girlfriend Shelley, who will be visiting from Switzerland, will be helping us build and hang in some nature for a few weeks through the summer. We usually work until we get hungry so night time we can chat ideas and hang and have some few beers around the camp fire. If your happy to join us feel free to book it :) Thanks guys!

Beautiful spot! Private, great fire pit, well worth your money! The directions were spot on. Great spot to bring friends for a weekend at Shaver Lake or Yosemite. The drive up to the site on the dirt road was a little worrying in my VW Golf that sits pretty low, but it made it no problem. Stay here for a unique adventure! You will fall in love with the Sierras.

Wonderful, quiet campsite with a spectacular view!
4wd is probably a good idea to get up to it, we were happy we have a 4wd truck and didn't have to carry our gear up the hill!
If your tent requires stakes into the ground (as mine does) be advised that the ground up there is very rocky but we managed to pitch the tent with a stout little hatchet to pound in stakes.
This was a great location to use as base camp for three nights. We would take day trips to local lakes to fish and were advised by super friendly neighbors to head to Mckinely Grove.... Trust me, go there!

This site was more Jan we could have expected. The view of the city lights are unparallel and the star gazing was magic...we saw about 10 shooting stars! The site was cleaned of rocks and debris and there were plenty of flat surfaces to park our truck (we slept in the bed). The out house was clean and looked to be newly built, no foul smells inside. Pathways around camp were all marked with solar lights. All and all and epic night and can’t wait to return for the views and stars!

Total relaxationSmoke in the valley from the fires, but didn’t effect us up high.

My son and I enjoyed the site. There was plenty of firewood, and be sure to bring saws and axes to break it up. No sedans or minivans for sure, as 4x4 is necessary. My wrangler easily made it but I did have to go into 4x4. The view is really nice, and the site is private. I never actually saw the hosts which is fine since the directions were easily followed. The site is primitive so bring what you will need except for the wood of course.

Beautiful setting overlooking the Sierras and Fresno! The site is still very primative, but they are working on adding amenities. We will definitely be staying here again!

This place is killer. Go! The hosts have clearly put a lot of creative thought and hard work in making this place utterly unique and beautiful. We came here on a last minute whim because another campsite got smoked-out during the Ferguson/Yosemite fires, but we were so glad we came and, frankly, blown away by the beauty and fun vibe of this place. When you drive up, it’s pretty unassuming, but nice - well taken care for; cleanest outhouse in the world; great view of the Sierras; secluded and quiet, but near the local village and lakes. Then night comes and this place transforms into a starry wonderland. Fresno lights up in the distance, which occupies half of your view in the best way (think teenagers making out in cars in 80s movies). The hosts have scattered the place with these tiny, solar powered lights that are just bright enough to illuminate the place in a moony hue, but not distracting, nor do they cause any light pollution, and it makes it all pretty magical.
In short: go, it’s so worth it. We cannot wait to come back.

The Canopy is honestly one of the most epic campsites I've had the pleasure of staying at. With endless panoramic mountain views and hardly a soul around for miles, you'll feel on top of the world at this site. Jeff & Matt have a great shaded table area and fire pit set up for campers (though we did visit during a fire ban), as well as incredibly clean outhouse and loads of room to wander. Come prepared with everything you'll need (food, water, etc) because you're a little haul away from the nearest shops - which, in my opinion, just adds to the experience. Also, just be aware that the road up to the site is what looks like a logging road - just dirt and rather bumpy - so it would be slightly more difficult to manage with less capable cars. I truly can't rave enough about the secluded beauty of this site - it's a must for your visit to Sierra Nat'l Forest / the surrounding areas!

Gorgeous mountain views for miles.Looking down at the drive-in sites.Wooden "bridge" up to more of the property.Pulling out the rooftop tent!
