Kala did a great job, very easy accommodating and responsive. Site set up, bathroom access were better than expected. Given it was their first time hosting they did a great job. Very close to Collins Lake and our kids loved the big swing in their yard. Only concern we had were their dogs but once they figure out a better way to ensure separation from the site areas it should be fine. If you are bringing your dog or have younger children I would definitely inquire about their dogs and what changes have been made to prevent them from accidentally getting out and going into the guest sites.

From the moment we started communicating with Kala about the property, we felt well informed and cared for. We had a group that included our family and four friends, which took up two sites. Kala was very accommodating to our group from the beginning to end of our stay. The land is beautiful with big oak trees that created enough shade for us to enjoy through the day. The bathrooms and shower were very clean and a short walk to the house. It was such a treat to have access to these amenities while camping. One of the best parts about the location was the proximity to Yuba river and an awesome swimming spot just minutes from the property. We had a great stay and highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to camp in this area.

We found this place last minute and stayed for 3 nights over Memorial Weekend. Kala and his family are so sweet and accommodating! We were told upon arrival to pick whichever spot we like for our RV so we parked under a large tree for extra shade. There were around 5-6 large trees which are perfect to camp under and are nicely spaced apart from other campers.

Would be happy to come back for another peaceful getaway :)

Our experience with Kala and his family was beyond exceptional! In fact, that is an understatement. They offered a camping experience unlike any I had before and were extremely welcoming and friendly! The site was well kept and Kala and his family went out of their way to ensure that their guests were taken care of. They recommended places to go, as well as making recreational areas for their kids available to all families with kids! They had chicks and chickens we were able to look at. Bathrooms were always clean and accessible at all times! Help was offered/given without having to ask. Just an overall amazing experience. We will DEFINITELY be back!

Kala does not just welcome you to his property but into his family! The six camp spots are spaced out around the property, leaving plenty of space between each, and none too far from the house where we had access to a great bathroom. Each spot had a nice fire pit, flat land for tents, and chairs to use around the fire.
Within 30 minutes of the property is a HUGE variety of swimming and hiking options, including lakes, rivers, and reservoirs, and Kala and family were able to provide excellent suggestions and directions to some beautifully private spots!
I will definitely be returning to this wonderful and accommodating spot!!

We had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend. Kala, Ruthie and the family are excellent hosts. The campsite was quiet and peaceful. They gave lots of tips and suggestions for swimming nearby and checked in every day to make sure we had what we needed. Nice clean full bathroom. Limited daytime shade at #6 so shade umbrella helps. We would definitely recommend this location.

Kala is literally THE BEST!! I honestly have never used hipcamp and am not an avid camper but was delighted to find this site and felt entirely at ease during the booking process. The real delight came when arriving to Kala's amazing homestead. The site was absolutely perfect for my friends and I and Kala's warm inclusive attitude and overall GREAT VIBES really made this trip absolutely memorable. It goes without saying that when making a trip out to the Yuba River area we will be sure to camp as a result of our trip and camp at Kala's beautiful home!! Also, I found a friend for life in Bruce (the neighbor's german shepherd) and Kala ❤️ thanks for the outstanding stay, Kala!

My family and I really enjoyed our time here. If you are new to camping it really is a great place. Having the amenities is a wonderful perk and Kala is a fantastic host. Before you choose a campground you should first determine what your goals will be and what you are truly looking for. If you are looking for a super private camping experience then I must say this is probably not the best place. However if you are relatively new to camping like my wife and kids are then this place is perfect. The boys loved being able to feed the chickens and run around all over the place. It is fully enclosed so you don't have to worry about critters or bears invading your campsite in the middle of the night. Camp sites are good size with decent shade. This is a new campground so I am sure it will only get better over time. We're looking forward to being able to come again maybe next year. Thanks for the great time Kala!

This was a great camping spot! The hosts were so welcoming and generous and it was a delight to hang out on the property. There are chickens and a large garden, and the hosts have many beautiful, well behaved dogs they walk around the property. Bring a camp table, and check out the swimming holes and Collins Lake just a few minutes away. We will definitely be back!
