At this time there are (20) main dedicated tent-sites, (2 of 5) 16-foot bunk-bed yurts, and (1 of 6) 24-foot bunk-bed yurts near the common areas,  available for camping spaces.  The 16-foot bunk-bed Yurts have (3) bunk beds in them, which can sleep up to six people. The 24-foot bunk-bed Yurts have (7) bunk beds in them, which can sleep up to fourteen people. No linens are provided for bunk-beds.

The numbered (1-12) tent sites have partial shade; the alphabetical (A-I) tent sites have no shade and are entirely in the sun.  There are no special set-up at the sites, only ground for pitching tents. There is one communal campground fire-ring that can be utilized by all onsite.  Fire usage will be allowed in this fire-ring only and must be approved by the site managers and local Fire Marshall, based on fire safety levels during camp-out periods. We cannot guarantee fire-ring use during your stay. Bring your own propane camp-stove (recommended) for cooking personal meals... and plenty of blankets and warm gear for evenings.

Onsite, there are (3) more additional 30-foot open-space yurts and one large open space Barn-Lodge Meeting Hall.  Although, there is a swimming pool onsite, it is not available for rent during camping events.  All of these additional spaces are reserved for use during special events and must be rented directly through the owners of the property, The Unity Center - San Diego, at special event pricing and have special rental restrictions and terms.

Stallion Oaks Ranch is a privately owned and operated outdoor retreat venue, covering 243 acres which is backed up against the National Forest and is located in a fairly secluded mountain-residential area.  The site has multiple walking trails located on the property (including a trail-head to Pacific Crest Trail), a walk-around lake, peace-pole with full-size labyrinth under the oak trees, a man-made medicine wheel, and multiple meditation spots, along with a couple outdoor gazebos.

The property is located just 45 minutes from downtown San Diego and several beaches and just 15 minutes away from Viejas Casino and about 30-60 minutes away from other common tourist sites.

We had a great time camping! Camp host greeted us and gave us important information for the campgrounds. Lots of shade at campsite #4, but if you don't like hearing the cars drive by, just choose a site farther in. It was very quiet, scenic, and nice place to relax. Easy access to water for washing dishes or rinsing (not drinking). There was an outlet plug on our site. We didn't know ahead of time so didn't bring any electronics to use. The bathrooms and showers were very clean (best we've seen at a campground)! We enjoyed the hike to the lake. There was no lake access so we only walked around it. Would be nice if there was access, but lake was still beautiful. Overall we would recommend to anyone wanting a nice place to camp and get away from the more crowded public campsites.

We were first time campers so this was the perfect site for us. We felt safe, the hike to the lake was nice and walking on the laberynth was very peaceful. Having CLEAN toilets, showers and sinks with cool water to wash our hands was a BIG PLUS. Plenty of wildlife during the day and nocturnal sounds to make it memorable for my 8 year-old-son. We recommend site #10 or #11....a little far away from the restrooms (250 steps) but they have the best shade from beautiful oak trees and they have a picnic table for you. Overall we had a great time. We totally recommend it.

Did not know that there was such a great campsite within 40 mins of San Diego. Beautiful shade trees , water taps/showers/electrical outlets/ well kept restrooms. Camping for those who do not wish to go full primitive. Excellent walks within the site and nearby sites as well. Perfect in all sense. I plan to use revisit soon

Stallion Oaks exceeded our expectations. Amanda was extremely welcoming and was such an accommodating host start to finish. Keep in mind that there is no cell reception whatsoever, but for me that was great! It felt so nice to unplug for the weekend. They do have a landline guests can use if necessary.

The property is beautiful. The walk to the labrynth and down to the lake was peaceful and tranquil. The lake is swampy along the edges but if you have
a kayak or paddleboard, you can paddle out to the center to go swimming. There's also lots of wildlife on the property. Note that there's a mama mountain lion with two babies that live on the property, but we never did see them. We did see a fox though! And the sounds of the crickets and owls at night are so relaxing. They also have chickens and a rooster that crows at dawn, which I thought was pretty cool to experience.

The only downside we experienced was that there were a ton of bees, ants and bugs. But that's to be expected this time of year. And they don't bother you at all. They're just coexisting, living the bug life. The heat was a bit intense this weekend too, but that's also to be expected since it's the middle of summer. We had plenty of shade at our site and were able to cool off in the showers. Note that some sites are not shaded, so if you have a canopy, definitely bring it along just in case, as sites are first come first pick. They had the pool open and welcomed us to use it to cool down too, which was very kind of them.

The bathroom was so nice and clean. It had 3 bathroom stalls (indoor plumbing) and 3 showers on the women's side.
*NOTE TO GUESTS (at no fault of the hosts, who are awesome): please close the bathroom's outside door! There's a sign clearly asking guests to do this to keep critters out, but other campers this weekend must've had trouble reading it because I found it open on several occasions. So if you don't like peeing with a swarm of bugs around you, then close the darn door, okay? It's not that difficult people. Please be kind to our hosts who have to maintain those bathrooms. (Okay, rant over).

One more thing to mention; there are some hiking trails nearby that we didn't get to try out, but I hear they have waterfalls! Three Sisters and Descanso Falls I believe. We'll definitely be coming back for another visit so we can explore some more! Thank you so much Stallion Oaks for hosting us! It was a great weekend away!

My family and I stay here for the weekend our first time camping out and it was amazing it was so much more beautiful and bigger than I expected there was a nearby trail that lead to the lake it was beautiful walked me and my family had an amazing weekend very relaxing place . there was clean bathrooms with private showers with hot running water. When we first got there It was little cold just for a little bit in the morning we set up camp and we took a lil nap ... but by midday it was nice and beautiful & we went for a walk on the trail that led to the lake and we took pictures . later on that night got little chilly . but they offered us some wood witch it was very nice of them because all I brought was the firing and no wood . Later on that night we sat by the fire and toasted marshmallows and made some s'mores. It was very nice it was definitely a trip me and my family will never forget I recommend staying here to anyone who wants wants to spend quality time with the family and wants get away from the city of everyday life and experience a true Descanso

Beautiful, safe, tidy grounds with so many critters passing through. We slept great and enjoyed hiking and exploring during the day. Close enough to the freeway, but far enough away to really feel out in nature. The owners are super kind people. We will definitely return here.
