At this time two of our five 16-foot yurts (Ash & Elm - see map), one of five 24-foot yurts (Dove - see map) and twenty tent-sites near the common areas, are available for camping spaces. Each of the 16-foot Yurts have three bunk beds and can sleep up to six people. No linens are provided for bunk-beds.

Onsite, there are three more additional 16-foot bunk-bed yurts and five more 24-foot bunk-bed yurts (one which is handicap accessible and can sleep 10 people). There are also three 30-foot open-space yurts, one large open space Barn-Lodge Meeting Hall and a semi-commercial kitchen.  Although, there is a swimming pool onsite, it is not available for rent during camping events.  These additional spaces are reserved for use during special events and must be rented directly through the owners of the property, The Unity Center - San Diego, at special event pricing and have special rental restrictions and terms.

Stallion Oaks Ranch is a privately owned and operated outdoor campground and retreat venue, covering 243 acres. It is backed up against the Cleveland National Forest and is located in a fairly secluded mountain-residential area.  The site has multiple walking trails located on the property (including a trail-head to Pacific Crest Trail), a walk-around lake, peace-pole with full-size labyrinth under the oak trees, a man-made medicine wheel, and multiple meditation spots, along with a couple of outdoor gazebos.

There is one communal campground fire-ring that can be utilized by all onsite.  Fire usage will be allowed in this fire-ring only and must be approved by the site managers and local Fire Marshall, based on fire safety levels during camp-out periods. We cannot guarantee fire-ring use during your stay. Bring your own propane camp-stove (recommended) for cooking personal meals... and plenty of blankets and warm gear for evenings.

The property is located just 45 minutes from downtown San Diego and several beaches and just 15 minutes away from Viejas Casino and about 30-60 minutes away from other tourist sites.

My family Loved Stallion Oaks! I cant believe before our stay I have never heard of this amazing spot!! We came from San Diego so the drive over was really short also. Only took us about 45 minutes from the Scripps Ranch area. Directions from google maps worked out great. The property was clearly marked and easy to find.
We stayed in one of the 16' yurts. This was our first experience with this type of dwelling and right away all could think is how much I want one! They are very spacious and cozy. There was 3 bunk beds in our Yurt (sleeps 6). There was a lamp for lighting while staying in the yurt and also a lamp for traveling out at night (bathroom runs). There are screened windows that let in fresh air and still keep out the bugs. There is also these really awesome sky light bubble things. The night we stayed it was a full moon. It was awesome to watch the bright moon pass over from our bunks. My son especially loved this.
Stallion oaks has done a great job creating a safe, peaceful space. There is a lot of open space that can used around the property. I feel it offers great opportunities for you to recharge, rest, take a walk. and/or quiet your mind. There was this awesome Labyrinth that you can walk around. At first it looks like a simple maze that you could walk in a minute or so. In fact its very well thought out and requires a certain level of patience in order to get through.
My family really enjoyed hiking out to the lake. The there was additional trails past the lake but we didn't continue on. There was great directional signs along the way to let you know you are going the correct direction. There are also signs warning of poison oak and rattle snakes. We didn't see any rattle snakes. It was nice to see they cared enough to post reminders around the property though. Especially with kids running around, you really really cant be too careful.
Stallion oaks makes a great location for large and small groups. If you are considering this amazing location you should stop reading and book it right now.

Getthing things prepped for dinner. There a picnic tables near the yurts that you can use.Very nice bunk beds in the yurtsCommunal fire pit. Call the day before to check weather conditions. If approved, bring your own wood.Spacious sleeping area would be more than enough room for a group of 6.

Stallion Oaks ranch is well worth the stay.
Get a few friends together, and book a yurt ASAP.
Perks include comfortable, clean beds, wildlife such as turkey and deer, gorgeous trees and grass, and a large property to roam around on. I recommend taking the trail down to the lake at sunset before starting a fire at the communal fire pit.
The property manager, John is kind and helpful. There are clean bathrooms with hot showers - a plus for any traveler looking to refresh.
Overall, if you’re looking to reset from the business of everyday life and find a bit of inner peace, this is a great place to do it.

We wanted to get away from the city to enjoy the quiet of the outdoors in a beautiful setting. Stallion Ranch exceeded our expectations! Our host was super helpful and even provided us firewood since we forgot ours! The stars were nothing short of breathtaking. The yurts were clean and ready for us to stay and the bathrooms were amazing and clean as well. We can't wait to come back!

My wife and kids had a great time staying in one of the yurts. We went during the week and we were the only people there and had the whole property to ourselves. The yurt and bathrooms were very clean. We explored the large property during the day and relaxed under the shady oak trees. Very peaceful at night with a lot of wildlife to listen to. The surrounding area is also very beautiful. We drove to lake cuyamaca and Julian during the day a couple times to explore and really enjoyed ourselves. Overall, great experience , no complaints, and Highly recommend the experience.
