There are many hiking trails nearby. Come look at the stars and walk the largest labyrinth in California. There are trails on the land here as well. Come jam with us around a fire at night. There is a shared kitchen. Please bring your own food and keep the kitchen clean. Laundry cost is $5 for washing and drying per small load. We have spiritual discussions daily. We are in the midst of gorgeous rural native trees and nature away from urban life here. We are not affiliated with any particular spiritual ideology or philosophy with a central authority, but we are rather a community of truth seekers learning and growing in the mirror of relationship and intelligent questioning of everything; and love, we believe, is the only light in this spiritual journey. We Live in a beautiful piece of land at 3,400 feet elevation in Santa Ysabel, CA. This is a 10.8 acre property located at the Headwaters of the San Diego River and border of the 3800 acre Santa Ysabel Preserve. With many large stunning rock outcroppings and Metates carved into the rock, this has been the home to many before us. We have about 150 varieties of native plants around the entire property that have names of the plants for demonstration purposes. Some of the plants are rare. We are slowly adding name labels to the plants everywhere, so everyone can learn the names of the local native plants! Some of the native plants are edible. We are in a drought and we feel this education is wise to grow food this way, similar to a food forest. This will bring us closer to a more sustainable world when others learn about native plants, because naturally people will want to grow them in their yard instead of having a lawn thus saving the ground water and the water we all need. We feature the largest walking labyrinth in California. With more than 1000 Oak Trees, three small seasonal rivers, large granite boulders to climb and sit on and a large chemical-free and splinter-free playground, it is a haven and sanctuary for children and adults, alike. We are located close to the beautiful historic town of Julian, CA in Southern California. This area has beautiful, expansive views and rich California Gold Rush history. We are located 1.7 miles from the nearest town, Santa Ysabel, CA. The store there opens and closes each day from 6 am to 8 pm. Noble quiet hours are at 10:00 pm to 8 am. Whispers are okay. There is a dog next door about 200 feet away who sometimes barks. Thanks! and Welcome all!

This place is a blessing to find. Once here I almost felt like the Universe was telling me it was exactly where I was supposed to be. It's a great basic campground, with lots of trees and privacy from other campers. They have a house with a bathroom and kitchen for campers to use. The host's are kind, price is great, it is close to Julian but still remote enough to feel the vibe of the nature (I think there may easily be 100 species of plants, lots of wildlife, including turkeys). Due to the cleanliness, peacefulness, and tranquility of this place activities like yoga, meditation, and hiking allow for oneself a find a new deeper connection with nature
The positives include a nice friendly place to camp, close to Julian, and easy access to forest areas. There are a couple short hiking or mediation trails (and a labyrinth) on the property. You get to use the bathroom, shower, and communal kitchen in a nearby cabin when you are tent camping. Everything is clean, comfortable and friendly.
For some campers, the only downsides I can think of are a german shepherd at the property line occasionally has fits of barking. Also, you are very close to Hwy 78 which kind of wraps around the property. So expect some traffic noise.
I would think of this location as a jumping off point for doing other activities in the area. Though there is a small play area for kids, places to lay out your yoga mat, and you can do a botany walk trying to identify about 50 plant species (and maybe run across a wild turkey like I did), you'll probably run out of things to do at your campsite. But there is so much more to do in the area.
