We had a wonderful time staying out with Mike and Susy! They are located right between Coachella Valley, Palm Springs, and Joshua Tree National Park. Their entire property is completely fenced, which means dogs are able to run about unleashed, and our husky thoroughly enjoyed the freedom. They have adorable happy hens which produce fresh eggs daily, and they are available for campers to buy. The campsites are well thought out; they have picnic tables and fire rings available for use. Mike and Susy are amazing hosts! We had so much fun hanging out with them and getting to know them. We loved that there were both showers and a secluded outdoor bathtub available. There are plenty of amazing areas to relax with a good book and enjoy the sun and the spectacular mountain views. If you're in the area, this is definitely the place to camp!

Sky Valley View was an awesome camping experience! Mike and Susy were terrific hosts who really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and accommodated. The campsites were really well kept with great amenities. Each site is different but I think the one we had was the best (site #3). There was a fire pit, small heat-proof table to place hot items on, and plenty of flat ground to pitch a tent and park. Best of all our site had a super soft futon where you can lay and look up at the stars.

There are several toilets (essentially outhouse buckets but they are private enough and get the job done), two cold showers, a hot water bathtub which is fun, and a nice sink by the toilets so you can really wash your hands. Everything was sanitized and Mike and Susy made sure to keep things stocked and tidy.

There is also a patio area with grills and hot plates and a prep table so you can really cook a full meal if you want.

There’s several really cool communal areas, all of them have soft chairs and the central one has a bar you can sit at and watch the sunset.

The campsite has awesome 360 views of the sky and mountains. Watching the sun rise in the morning from one of the couches was lovely.

Mike and Susy are really cool people, if you want to be social they have great tips for what to see and do in the area. They also offer a scorpion walk at night where you can spot glowing scorpions under a black light at the edge of their property. They even gave us fresh eggs which we made some awesome breakfasts with!

We brought our dog Spooky and he had a total blast. The camp is fenced in so he could run free and he got to socialize with Mike and Susy’s three friendly dogs (their dogs are generally kept in their own area). Lots of soft sand for him to burrow around in and dig. He loved sleeping on the futon during the afternoon.

The camp is about 20 miles from Joshua Tree and the drive in was no problem. It’s even closer to sites like Hot Springs and Indian Canyon which has water. Next time we camp at JT or Palm Springs we’ll definitely stay here.

Overall I can’t recommend this highly enough! For the price and the value and fun Sky Valley can’t be beat.

Tori, and Guests, are true campers. We want to give our guests a Great experience, yet allowing them space to do what they want. They come to our property seeking the outdoors, so they spread out. This group saw our vision. Soaked up the sun, had bonfires, leaving footprints in the sand, enjoying the Desert's charm. Very Fun group with respect for the land. We look forward to having them back to Share the View. Always making improvements Come again Mike and Susy

Hands down this was our best camping experience!

First and foremost, thanks to the amazing hosts - Mike and Susy who treated us like friends. Mike met us when we arrived to the camp pretty late, past midnight. He anticipated an average tent will not resist windy conditions and prepared extra nails and a hammer to ease our setup. The fire pit had wood for the first cook and the hosts generously offered to use more. Susy greeted us in the morning, treated with some fresh eggs and made recommendations on what to explore during tough COVID 19 times, when most attractions are closed or unsafe to enjoy, she was quick to recommend us hikes and sights to explore around the area, and her recommendations were spot on!

The place actually exceeded expectations we had from photos as the hosts make improvements on the campground, and the additions are something we would not find in most camps. The campground is equipped with a refreshing shower, well maintained restrooms, hammocks, bar stand with a lounge area, dining table with an umbrella to hide from the desert heat, individual and communal fire pits... even a bathtub if you wish. With all this abundance, we didn't feel like the joy of private camping is gone. The other way around these amenities complemented our camping experience, else how do you survive in a desert without a shower and shade.

We stayed for 3 nights and only wished we had more time to enjoy this amazing camping site and hang out with Mike and Susy. We are 100% coming back for the next round!

Dzimitry, Eugene, Alex and Miss Mango; were like friends we just hadn't seen in awhile. They came to camp late, but had their tents set up in no time, because this was their first time to Joshua Tree, and wanted to be up and out early. We gave them a few tips on how to circumvent the Main gate line, and seemed to help. After a full day they came back to cool showers and Dzimitry proved to be quite the cook, he brought a "Russian Shish KabobBBQ." (see pic) They went with us to explore scorpions, we gathered in community areas(respecting Covid 19) yet telling cool stories of the days adventures. More tips on local hiking spots, so Yes they went to the Palm Springs Indian Canyons and drenched themselves in waterfalls, and they said' It was more fun than Joshua Tree". This group Soaked up Sun, Stars and Views and brought Fun and Joy. Until we meet again, stay Cool Mike and Susy

Michael and Susy were increadible hosts! Absolutely enjoyed their generosity, and hospitality. Their location had everything you needed for a getaway from the city. This was our first time camping in the desert and this location did not dissapoint. Susy took us on a nice walk at night to watch scorpions glow in the dark! Be sure you’re aware that this is a low maintenance camping experience not suited for high maintenance people. Absolutely recommend and will come back!

Salvador and Esmerlda, were gald to get out of the City. They wasted no time finding a shady hang out spot, the Hammocks! As the sun began to set they took a short walk out the back gate to hilltop view, so they could watch the sunset on another beautiful day in the desert.(see their pics) JT was the next days destination, returning sun kissed Esmerelda helped herself to Aloe plant, knowing it would sooth her skin, smart Lady! When dark arrived, Salvador played great music and even brought a light machine, that synced with the music. We had a full camp that night and everyone went on the Scorpion Walk, this even impressed Salvador. We are glad they are able to embrace all the Desert has to offer, loved sharing our land. Until nextime. Gracias Amigo Beinvendios Mike and Susy

I booked Sky Valley View as a surprise camping trip for my fiance and our two friends. I was worried about the heat in June and it was hot but we still had the best time. Mike and Susy were as lovely as we were hoping, they greeted us and gave us a tour upon arriving. They were available to chat with and ask questions throughout our stay but we also felt that we had our privacy. I have to say, the bathroom area is really a highlight. Its so nice to have a sink with running water while camping as well as compost toilets with comfy padded seats and a shower. Our hosts recommended Whitewater Preserve for some water time with our friends and their dog and we had the best time hanging out in the perfect-temperature creek. Both my fiance and I had great naps that afternoon in some shady spots back at the campsite. Our first night was very windy, so plan for possible winds, but the second was perfect with mild weather and clear starry skies. Though we might not be back in June, we would love to camp here again.

Emily and Dan, with friends went to cool spots we recommended during the heat of the day, and able to enjoy late afternoon naps in hammocks. It was in 100s , Summer is HOT in the desert, glad you missed the 110s. We sometimes are thankful for the wind as it keeps temps. well lower (not cool). Glad You surprised your fiance, nothing like 2 trips to Sherman's Deli in Palm Springs. Great Campers, left footprints Thanks Mike and Susy

My boyfriend and I needed a getaway since we haven’t been out of our apartment since March because of covid, and this was the perfect place for us to do just that. We booked for a hot weekend and they suggested we go to Whitewater nearby and cool off with our dog and that was the perfect way for us to spend our afternoon, with no cell service! If you come without a dog there are also hot springs and spas nearby. If you have a Jeep or other 4wd vehicle you can go to watch the sunset back behind their property but our car was a bit too low for that. There was no additional fee to bring my dog along and they didn’t have any problems with the fact that he was a pit bull (pittie owners, you know the pain it can be to bring them anywhere.)

The property was exactly as pictured. There’s three main campsites which each have their own fire pit and table. When we arrived, Mike warned us about how windy it can get at night and had heavier duty stakes for our tent which we definitely needed, and a mallet because we happened to forget ours (oops.) They had plenty of firewood to use and didn’t charge us for any of it unlike some of the hipcamp sites. Theres plenty of shady common areas to hangout including a communal fire pit and a gas grill to use if you don’t want to cook over your fire. The entire property was fenced off and I felt comfortable leaving my dog off leash. They have 3 little ones, but they have their own fenced area. There are also chickens! At night you can see all of the stars easily and we were able to keep the rain fly off of our tent to stargaze before we went to bed each night.

The entire bathroom area was well kept and clean, and had a real sink to actually wash your hands! There are composting toilets on site and outdoor showers that were not heated but were nice in the desert heat! The composting toilets did not smell or attract bugs. There was also a garbage and recycling area. Both the trash and the bathrooms were not far from the campsite at all and easily accessible even at night.

Mike and Susy were very accommodating and nice! We also happened to be there the same time her kids and grandkids were visiting from out of state, and they were all just as kind and welcoming. They took us to see some of the scorpions on their property at night which was a cool experience! We saw 6 or 7 the night we went. Don’t worry, the campsites are on the other end of the property. (: Highly recommended if you’re looking for a getaway in the middle of nowhere. We will be returning in the future!

We loved staying at Michael and Suzys place. It was so magical and beauiful! The sunsets are unreal. I would say it got pretty hot during the day but they have a cold shower which is great. They were super sweet and even let my boyfriend bring out his travel DJ board and play some stuff! We had a great time and will 10000% be going back!
