Meadow Glampsite

Sindisa Sanctuary is a glamping experience like no other. Our visitors unwind with room to roam on an off-grid piece of paradise, while our rescue ranch animals enjoy their forever home. We don't ride the horses, but guests can get muddy with the pigs, hang out with the alpacas, commune with a rare herd of wild horses, feed the goats or simply kick back and enjoy the animals
Sindisa Sanctuary is a glamping experience like no other. Our visitors unwind with room to roam on an off-grid piece of paradise, while our rescue ranch animals enjoy their forever home. We don't ride the horses, but guests can get muddy with the pigs, hang out with the alpacas, commune with a rare herd of wild horses, feed the goats or simply kick back and enjoy the animals at a distance.
The Meadow Tent is situated at the edge of a large meadow with beautiful views of Mount St Helena and surrounding hillsides. The rescue ranch animals roam on their half of the property, but visitors are welcome to feed them with the guidance of our caregivers.
The tent is reminiscent of a canvas safari tent, complete with a mahogany bed and Persian rugs. You'll also find conveniently placed electrical outlets, lights, a wood burning stove, fans, deluxe bedding, a queen size bed and two twin beds, all with comfy duvets to keep warm at night.
Incase our visitors would like to book a fifth person at the Meadow Tent we offer a twin air mattress for an additional $50 per night. For groups exceeding 5 people we also offer an overflow tent that can sleep up to 6 people in sleeping bags for $50 per person/per night. Guests in the overflow tent must bring their own sleeping bags and mats.
Included in the glampsite is a fully operational outdoor kitchen with everything needed from pots and pans to wine glasses and cutlery. Be sure to bring plenty of ice for the cooler if you need to keep anything cold. The outdoor kitchen is for the exclusive use of Meadow Tent Guest only.
The outdoor bathroom features a claw foot tub with hot water and a shower head, a sink and fresh towels. A clean outhouse is situated adjacent to the outdoor bathroom for convenient access day or night. Both the bathroom and the outhouse are for the exclusive use of Meadow Tent guests.
Our spring fed swimming hole is the ideal place to splash around and cool down in the summer heat, located directly in front of the Meadow Tent and used only by it's guests.
**Please note that during the warm summer months we allow other camp guests to share the swimming hole form 2-5.
Also nearby is a scenic trail that provides a beautiful path for walking. If you'd like to hike off trail there are 125 acres of beautiful rolling hills to explore.
The Meadow Tent also features a cozy fire pit for night time gatherings, wood grilling and s'mores. What's camping without a campfire?! However, there are rare days when CalFire prohibits all fires due to dry conditions
The driveway to the campsite is a gravel road, so an SUV is recommended but not essential.

The setting at Happy Valley Ranch is absolutely dreamy. When you come down the road into the property, you are greeted with a view of horses grazing with Mt St Helena in the background. The tent is spacious and complete with a real bed, dresser, couch, table, and stove. The deck of the tent faces the dawn and overlooks the cooking area, swimming hole, and valley beyond.
We were greeted by Sarah and the property caretakers who showed us around and shared the story of the property and animals, who are rescues.
After a refreshing dip in the spring water swimming hole, we used the well-equipped outdoor kitchen to barbecue our dinner. We even made a fresh herb salad with pickings from the garden!
While the tent and bathroom area are cordoned off from the horse pasture, the pool and kitchen are not. Curious horses came right up to the table to sniff around and see what we were up to. It was a surreal and pretty entertaining experience, but we finally ended up moving up to the higher deck to get a little space while we ate!
The sun rises directly into the door of the tent, so be sure to draw that closed if you want to sleep in. The kids were excited to see the sunrise and bolted out of bed when the sky turned pink, even though it was another hour until the sun actually came over the mountain! I was grateful for a french press and cozy couches and blankets to curl up with. The valley cools down quite a bit at night and morning was pretty brisk compared to our 90 degree arrival!
The place is really well-equipped with hot water and solar lights. It was so nice not to have to think about stuff like that. While it's a huge step-up from a sleep-on-the-ground camping experience, we did encounter a lot of cellar spiders in the tent and around the sink. A composting toilet going in soon will be a great addition!
My only regret is we missed the feeding time with the alpacas! Such a memorable trip!

Happy Valley Ranch was a great place to have a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the quiet wilderness, but also the close proximity to the wine country. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-stocked. Even though the listing was rustic, we definitely enjoyed our "glamping" experience. Would be back again!
We loved our stay -- Sarah is an excellent host, the bedding is plush and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen is gorgeous, and the free-roaming horses and ranch dog were friendly. Can't wait to come back, maybe with a small group, and try out the swimming hole and explore the property further.

Happy Valley Ranch is so amazing! Literally the first camp site I have ever been to with running water, pool, wine glasses and an outdoor shower. I could have stayed for a month. Sarah made everything so easy and special for us. We will 100% be back we LOVED it! There are horses and alpacas! I would highly recommend this place! Happy Trails

Our stay at Happy Valley Ranch was incredible! The hosts were so nice and helpful and really made us feel at home. The location was amazing- you're back in wine country surrounded by amazing wineries and the campground is perfectly secluded and private. The whole experience was SO comfortable- the tent was huge and well covered and included a super comfortable bed. The outdoor kitchen and shower were amazing, as was the watering hole/swimming pool. Everything felt clean, well organized, and well stocked. Staying with the animals was our favorite part of the trip- when we got there we were able to help feed the alpacas and say hi to the pigs. The horses are super friendly and we were feeding them apple slices. There is an adorable dog on the property named Mario, who also helped us feel even safer at night. My husband and I would go back to Happy Valley Ranch in an instant, it was an incredible first hip camp experience! 5 stars all around!
Happy Valley Ranch is by far one of my favorite and most magical Hipcamps, EVER! Sarah and the crew at Happy Valley Ranch were incredible hosts! They gave us a tour of the property, showed us the animals, and made sure we found the place with ease. They were so nice, we love them :) Highlights included:
-Rescue horses roaming around the property
-Close to Healdsburg and wine country
-Beautiful pool overlooking nature
-Glamping tent with cozy beds, cute decor, fresh sheets, and views
-OUTDOOR BATHTUB. WOW.
-Garden filled with fresh herbs, basil, tomatoes, and more for snacking
-Toilet and bathroom with a mirror
-Cutest dog ever.
-BABY ALPACA. yes, pure joy.
Would absolutely recommend this place as a place to refresh, reset, restore, reconnect with nature, and have the best time ever.

Wow wow wow!!! This place is out of this world incredible! The site is so beautiful it seemed like we were living in a dream. The tent itself is so wonderful, with lovely sitting chairs, and an absolutely fabulous bed, plus room for multiple people to sleep which is nice for a bit larger crew. As if the luxury tent wasn't enough there is also the amazing swimming hole on site with the best view. It didn't stop there though, the outdoor kitchen was also incredible, and very thoroughly stoked with pots, pans, and other utensils. Right next to the wonderful kitchen was a lovely dinning area that included an awesome eclectic piano which made for a beautiful, music filled evening. Finally, the incredible outdoor bathroom and tub! The shower was amazing, with hot water on demand and all open air made it feel ten times better. All in all this place is a secluded getaway dream! We hope to be back soon!!

Stayed here for one night and had such a magical experiencing waking up to horses on the ranch. Thanks for your hospitality!
Happy Valley Ranch is awesome. It's a fantastic weekend getaway for couples, but it would probably be tough to have more than 2 or 3 couples here. The amenities are out of this world and there is no shortage of activity in the surrounding area.
A couple notes:
* Be prepared for horse contact -- the horses will come right up to your kitchen area. We found that blocking off the entrances with the extra chairs worked pretty well when you need time to prepare food. They are all ultra friendly and nothing to be afraid of, so long as you don't pester them.
* Mario (the dog) is a total sweetheart and you should bring treats if you're a dog person
* The kitchen is fully stocked with the basics, but you'll want to bring any specialty gadgets, spices, etc. that you'll need (we needed a spiralizer for our Pad Thai)
* Compost toilet (no flush)
* Shower provides enough coverage, but during the winter months, it's chilly when you get out. Plan to take really short showers and dry off fast.
* Be mindful of power usage, but know that there are outlets if you need them (my girlfriend needed her hair straightener and was able to use it)
Overall, a really special place that everyone should visit. Hope everyone has as much fun as we did!
