Enjoy camping on a private historic ranch in the Sierra Foothills -- serene, private, beautiful views in the heart of El Dorado County located at 6400'. Nearest neighbor is 12.5 miles away! Come rest & relax!

Just three miles down the road, you can find swimming holes, waterfalls, hiking and fishing in the El Dorado National Forest. Bring your mountain bikes. Plenty to explore on the 40 acres here on the ranch as well. You can find grinding stones left by the Miwoks, beautiful meadows, and a pond.

Campsite #1 is great for couples or families. Plenty of shade for your tents as well.

NO CAMPFIRES or GRILLING over open fire when windy (bring charcoal for backup cooking just in case)

Kyburz is the nearest community and is situated along the South Fork of the American River and U.S. Route 50. South Lake Tahoe is even closer to Kyburz, at just under 25 miles or 31 minutes, away, which gives guests the ability to experience the beauty of Lake Tahoe also.

Accommodates more than one RV or 1 tent with optional RV and tent space available. Large trailers or RV's OK. Lots of trees for shade.

* Big groups are more than welcome! Please inquire directly if you'd like to book the entire ranch, as that is something we offer. *

There are bees and yellow jackets so if allergic, please bring epipen!

Silver Fork Ranch is an amazing property! We camped and had a great weekend exploring the property and surrounding area. Rod and his animals are wonderful hosts. We had ample firewood, and any thing else we could have possibly needed. Zuke quickly made friends with us and was about the best host dog you could ask for. A quick hello and pat on the back then off he went to check on the other campers. The lake was just beautiful to sit around and so calming and peaceful. His ducks gathered outside of our tent eating grass and playing as the sun was setting across the wildflower filled fields. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more and highly recommend Silver Fork Ranch! It's definitely a must visit. Can't wait to return!

Great site! Waterfalls and wading pools just a few miles from Silver ForkAn organic blackberry pie from the farmers market leaving SF will go perfectly with a campfire Huge site, well shaded and lots of room to ride and explore

I had the entire campsite to myself and it was perfect. (The bees are in season though, so just beware!) Thank you for a wonderful stay:)

Great, secluded spot for quiet camping. A friend and I stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed a campfire (supplied by Rod and included in the price), an easy drive to explore Tahoe and hike, and 40 acres to explore. The drive in is on a marked paved road, and the entrance is big and easy to find. Rod's directions are spot on. Rod greeted us upon our arrival, let us know that he was available if need be, and then we were on our own. Great host. Highly recommend. Will come back.

Rod and Zuke are awesome! They gave us great tips to find local swimming holes and keep a very clean camp. There were a ton of bees everywhere in the Sierras, which put a damper on our trip, but there was nothing Rod could have done about that.

This was an excellent campsite! The property was really nice and secluded, and had a pond, stream, unmarked trails, and meadows. Great to wander around and explore! Rod was very friendly and gave us nice hiking suggestions, as well as provided ample firewood and some drinking water. He even got us a 4th of July tablecloth which was so festive! Just 4 miles away there are nice trails by Caples Creek and a larger river for bathing. We would love to return. Thanks Rod for sharing your ranch with us.

What a dream ... honestly one of the most magical places my wife and I have ever visited. This was such an amazing spot, we didn't want to leave. The rushing river with natural pools 3 miles down the road was the highlight. And the 45min drive to Lake Tahoe was nothing as it's spent on a stunning mountain road with sweeping views. If you could give this place 6 stars I would.

Old West Ranch was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the campsite, facilities and host Rod exceeded our expectations.
Campsite 1 was ideal with plenty of privacy and space. The Ranch is just a short drive to the river and plenty of beautiful lakes and hikes.

We had a blast at Rod and Zuke's campsite ranch. Rod was very helpful and provided us with extra blankets and some firewood for the cold night ahead. Highly reccomend this site to anyone and when in the area we will definitely be back for sure. Thanks Rod and Zuke!

Rustic camping...with most of the amenities! The host (Rod) and his darling pup Zuke really outfitted the place, with picnic benches, fire grills (made on the ranch!), firewood, extra seating, and a spigot right there in camp. No one was there when we were there so Rod was kind enough to let us stay in the meadow campsite (4 I think?). We spent evenings roaming around the property and chilling at the campsites (which are spaced out enough for privacy). The only downer was that there weren't any showers like advertised (or we weren't able to find them) so we got a little extra dirty than had hoped. Rod was kind enough to give us directions to a calmer stream about 3 miles back that is very swim-able and totally fun to take a few floaties to and make a day of it!

These grills are amazing and super clean...and Rod makes them himself! Bring veggies.Beautiful meadow for campsite (4?)
