Jody (the host) was very friendly. The campsite has a beautiful view of the mountains. There is a hammock where you can enjoy the beauty of local sunsets. The toilet is clean and odor-free. The campsite was peaceful and private. There are plenty of hiking trails with gorgeous views.
Beautiful and relaxing stay
Jody and Mike were very responsive with their communications. They were wonderful hosts! Jody met us upon arrival to give us our fire permit. The campsite in their backyard had everything we needed: a fire pit, grate to cook on the fire, a hand washing station, picnic bench, hammock and a small table to eat at. We also enjoyed the hot tub that was in the back of Jody and Mike's home. They had horseshoes and tetherball as well. The sunsets from the property are spectacular! The only thing we experienced was very high winds during our stay, but we absolutely loved camping here and strongly recommending this site for others.
Jody was great host and her cabin and the hipcamp spot are in a beautiful location. The site was very clean and lovely. The campfire and picnic table setup are great, and we enjoyed the use of the hot tub and horseshoe pits each day. It is worth nothing that while this is in the host's backyard and you have privacy from them, there are neighbors close by next door and you won't have complete privacy from them but it was not a problem. We drove 30 minutes away to hike near Shaver Lake and found the solitude and peace we were looking for there on one of our days. The site had beautiful sunset views and also a very affectionate cat who likes to chase mice and lizards and protect camp. I'd recommend this site to people who enjoy sunsets, campfires and the additional bonus of a hot tub while camping!
Great spot but needs some tweaking
Incredible spot! The views are amazing! The only changes I would’ve liked to see would be access to camp on the flat land just outside the corral. It seems pretty unused and sleeping on the slope was not ideal. Also if you’re going to have just a Porto potty it shouldn’t be in the middle of the campsite.
The hot tub is also in the backyard and inaccessible after 10pm, which was not entirely clear in the listing.
Beautiful views from the campsite and hot tub access - hard to beat! Dedicated space was a little on the hilly side, but Jody let us find some flatter ground to pitch our tents. This was my first hipcamp experience and definitely a great one.
Almost the best ever...
This property has a lot of potential and could be great except 2 things.
1. No flat spot for a tent... We camped in the car because the area for tents was not level. PLEASE, make some level areas for tents so friends can join and sleep good. Their yard was leveled and could easily be done for tents as well. At least 2 or 3 level areas is needed.
2. The fire pit was way too big and tall. We didn't even have a fire because the pit would have required a huge fire to be able feel warmth from. The walls were so high you wouldn't feel warmth sitting next to it. In thier yard they had a perfect fire pit but not for campers. Make a smaller fire pit so guests can have smaller, more manageable fires.
The good parts were an incredible, clean area with awesome views and a great spa. Really awesome spot. So close to being a perfect spot. Please make these small changes.
Absolutely wonderful stay in the mountains! Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. Porta potty was super clean and this was super appreciated after a long week of traveling from camp site to camp site. Beautiful views and an even better sunset. Jody was more than helpful and wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed (which we did). Highly recommend!
