Listen to frogs and owls at night as you sleep aside a small pond and old willow tree. The pond is really only good for frogs to swim in, but there is a swimming hole nearby and a soaking tub too. Beautiful views of the property from the Frog Pond Camp Site!
Communal areas include:
-A small natural cold tub that is great for dipping in on a hot afternoon. Seats ~8 comfortably, great for sore muscles after a long hike :)
- Communal outdoor kitchen with dishwashing sink, counter tops, picnic table and mini fridge
-1 Bathroom inside the main house, shower and flush toilette- Large group fire pit (when fire ban is not in effect - generally November to April)
-Badminton Game Area
-Natural area, granite rock cave, short pathways, fields, meadows, labyrinth for walking meditation, rocks to scramble on, pond with frogs and more
We own seven acres adjacent to Agua Fria Creek below the Guadelupe Mountains. Golden meadows, big granite rocks, and ancient oak trees. The property is about an hour drive from Yosemite Valley and 10minutes to the town of Mariposa, cute shops, fun bars, and good restaurants. Check out the local farmer's market Wednesdays from 5-6:30pm.
The land we live on has a long history. Gold miners dredged the creeks in search of gold, the property was the site of a stage coach house for travelers, and most noticeable is the multitude of grinding holes and mortars that have been ground into the granite rocks by Native Americans. People have lived here for thousands of years.
A great site to relax and spend the day a few days, or just spend the night on your way into Yosemite. Camp grounds book up early in Yosemite, so many people stay at Sierra Foothill Oasis as a staging ground for their week long vacations in the National Park.

The vibe at Frog Pond
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Frog Pond was lovely! The private bathroom with a full shower was very nice. The outdoor sink and cooking area was clean and very necessary with the highly flammable brush at the tent sites. It is about an hour's drive to Yosemite Valley from the site, so great for any Yosemite hikers/campers that want to stay outside the park.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Frog Pond site. There are two other sites on the property, but the sites are far enough away that you have as much privacy as you'd like. The house was easy to find and there is a really nice hand drawn map of the property next to the clearly marked Hipcamp Bathroom. It was really nice to have a real bathroom to shower off at the end of the day, so that was definitely a plus for a visit in the heart of the summer.
There are several parking spots that are clearly marked, however all of the spots were filled on both nights that we stayed at the property even though there was only one other group staying there. I believe the owners of the house were having some sort of party and the guests took all of the parking spots, leaving us to park near the gate of the property and lug our gear much further than expected both nights we stayed.
The property is beautiful, the campsites are spread out and spacious, and the amenities are great - My only advice would be to make sure that there are parking spots available for the people with reserved camps!
