Wrong name given by Hipcamp!!!
Not "Beachside Farm Camp Grounds"! "See Canyon Fruit Farm" is on sign. Also, no street address posted at gate (except large different street number for adjacent property). Wandered for an hour 10 miles out of our way. Finally got cell service and called. Had to set up camp in dark. Very frustrating way to start trip! Then, while we were kayaking the next day, someone from big wedding party on the farm parked a truck in our campsite. Took several hours to find owner and move vehicle. Fortunately loud cowboy band music from wedding until 8 pm was good quality. Very clean bathrooms. Beautiful night sky. Saw several deer, 3 foxes, wild turkeys, owls.
This is one of the best HipCamps we've stayed at! The weather was perfect and the location was in close proximity to Morro Bay (~25 mins), SLO (~10 mins) and Avila Beach (~5 mins). Jeremiah (Paul's son) made sure to make us feel super welcome. He had fresh eggs, honey, and apple cider waiting for us when we arrived along with a map of the property. He also got us set up with a propane fire pit since they don't allow wood fires. We loved checking the garden, the chickens, and the litter of kittens they happen to have during our stay. There were a couple other groups camping, but they were spread out enough that we still had our privacy. You can tell their family is super passionate about their land, the farm and love sharing it with new people. We'll defiantly be back! Thanks Jeremiah and family for a lovely stay!
What a magical place. We had a wonderful time camping in the apple orchard and walking through the amazing property. The family were all so friendly and helpful. I am so happy to have found this place. It is a treasure. Highlight for the boys were that they happened to have kittens at the time:) It was just a beautiful property and close to so much in the central coast. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We LOVED camping at Beachside Farm Campground. The hosts were so kind and welcoming and inspiring. We loved listening to the owls at night, playing with the kittens and cats, tasting fresh-pressed apple juice, talking with Ma Kenny, picnicking in the orchard, using such a clean and spacious bathroom, and feeling safe and happy! We could have spent all day there, but we wanted to explore Avila Beach and SLO. Our hosts had great suggestions for places to eat and things to do, and we followed all of them happily. We would recommend this delightful camp to anyone!
We were greeted with warmth as soon as we arrived. It was an amazing experience to sleep amongst the apple trees. The farm is beautiful and comfortable, with the bathroom/shower only a short walk away. Being in a canyon, the low light pollution at night makes for awe-inspiring stargazing. I would recommend bringing extra cushions to sleep on as the ground is fairly hard. Beachside is very close to Avila Beach and San Luis Obispo, both fun to explore. See Canyon Fruit Ranch is an amazing place to stay... I couldn't recommend enough.
Had a wonderful time with my wife and four kids. Hosts were perfect. Property was amazing. Location is ideal. Feels like you’re in the middle of nature but you’re 5 mins from the beach and from SLO. Stuff on the farm kept the kids entertained. Would love to return in the fall when the trees are full.

Overall, this is a nice property in good location with proximity to morro bay, SLO, and avila/pismo beach.
Two of the bathrooms were being renovated while we were there which meant that only one bathroom was available to share among 5 campsites. With covid, we were not very comfortable with this. It is an open air bathroom which helped and we used clorox wipes on the surfaces that we touched but I am not sure how often it was thoroughly cleaned during our stay.
Property itself is nice, a valley orchard in the hills. Somewhat smaller than expected and the sites are all in a row with one open space in between them. Even with the open space in between, you are relatively close to other campers so you can hear conversations quite clearly if your neighbors are loud. My one critique would be to spread the campsites outa bit more if possible. Also worth mentioning is that it gets very hot in the afternoon and shade can be hard to find as the apple trees are not very big. The valley catches some wind which helps. This didn't bother us but worth noting so you know to pack shade tents or hats to be prepared.
While we felt very safe during our stay, we returned shortly after noon on the last day to a fire that started 1.5 miles away from the property. We watched a plane spread fire retardant over the hill and the helicopters dump water as the fire trucks raced by. We knocked on both doors to the owners home to get more information on any possible evacuations but no one answered. We decided to pack up our things and leave a night early for safety and health reasons- we didn't want to potentially be breathing in smoke from the fire even if it was safe to stay. As we left, the road coming in was closed off to incoming traffic with the potential of fire spreading to 200+acres. This was the only major bummer to our trip and the owner did not seem willing to refund any amount for circumstances beyond our control.

Hey there Tricia, thanks for choosing our property for your stay. Unfortunately we were not home, and un aware of the fire. To be refunded for your lost date, you can contact Hipcamp Support Staff, and they can handle your request.
Beautiful property and the nicest hosts! The Kenny family were all really sweet and showed us their beautiful place. They even gave us some fruits right from the tree and honey from their own beehive.

We have a different name for our campground due to privacy concerns for campers and the host family. We have our street address posted at two different locations in plain sight at our entrance. Unfortunately a wedding guest parked at your site and that is on us. We hope it didn't ruin you're Hipcamp experience, and that you continue with the site in the future.
