This is the first section of the campground, Sites 1-4. It is rented as double sites, either Site 1&2, or Sites 3&4 combined. Its a great area for large groups if you book both together. Parking for 1 vehicle is adjacent to each of them, with additional parking nearby. These sites are walk-in only, not suitable for sleeping in your vehicle. You can fit 2-3 small tents.
Please note, due to high fire hazard this summer, campfires are only permitted in a few shared sites with more contained fire pits and fire hoses. Site 5, adjacent to the restroom, has a fire pit you can use.
We are beginning an extensive restoration project, inviting the native vegetation and creatures back. Watch the transformation, as human impact is minimized and the river is allowed to shape the place.
Our facilities will remain rustic... Think Camping, not Glamping!
Each Site has water, electricity, and a picnic table. There are shared bathrooms with coin operated showers. Our campground is known for its family friendly village atmosphere. Here are some of our our Rules of the River~

The vibe at Tents on the River ~ Sites 1-4
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Thanks Gabriella!!! Such a beautiful place along the river. Watch out for unicorns though. We stayed at campsites 3&4 and it was great. The sites themselves are a little on the small side but when you get two of them or you're in a little group of campers it's just fine.
There is power, water, and a fire ring at each site. The bathrooms are close by and kept up daily. Very clean and stocked with TP. Be aware that Albion stays on the cooler side and it can get quite windy as the river is basically a little wind tunnel from the ocean. The river is good for kayaking or canoeing and there is a secret just around the bend when you do. Pay attention to the tides though.
We'll definitely be back again.
Thanks Gabriella for this great experience, we all enjoyed a lot the fact of camping close to the river, in a lovely place and on a large campground!
Campers, don't forget to bring 25 cent coins for the showers :)
Super quiet campsite! If your looking to kayak the Albinion campsite has double and single rentals from $30-40.00!! It was an awesome couple of days! Definitely coming back on our next road trip to Oregon!
Beautiful area. Sites all face the river. Saw a couple of seals and tons of birds. Gabriella was a wonderful host - stoped by for a quick greeting and gave us some interesting info. about the river. We had a fantastic time!
Campsites were well maintained with water and power directly adjacent to each spot. We rented sites 3&4. Flush toilets and plenty of fish cleaning stations nearby. Could fit 3 medium size tents comfortably.
It's a beautiful spot. We had great access to the water, Mendocino and Fort Bragg, as well as some good biking. We three guys took over the two spots included with the deal. There was enough room for us. We enjoyed the warm shower and bathroom access as well. We used hub caps provided at the site to enclose our fire. The fire pits located at the plots a few yards over would have been ideal if provided at our plots. Overall, it seems overpriced for what it is, but in a pinch, a nice spot to car camp and explore.
