Whenever we go on vacation it’s never as nice as home. This is that same experience as we get when we come home.#1 Hipcamp RV site in Northern California 2021 This campsite is on its own parcel and can accommodate up to three RVs, trailers, or camper vans. Get away from it all, while being in the middle of everything! Resting at 2,800’ feet enjoy acres of privacy from your self contained unit, RV or travel trailer, while camping on your own secluded parcel with unparalleled panoramic views of the Monterey and South Bay.   Experience everything the Bay Area has to offer from this mountain top site. With jaw dropping views, and roughly 50 minutes to any city in the Bay Area, this site is ideal for any person looking for an adventurous getaway retreat.   The seclusion and privacy make this an uncommon, yet ideal romantic trip.  This site is sheltered by the manzanitas and pines of this chaparral community, with its Eastern border along Uvas County Park. Adventure seekers will find paradise here!  Mount Madonna Park with miles of trails is 20 minutes down the road. You can dump your septic there as well!  Horseback riding rentals are located near the park as well as an archery range.  Demonstration forest is 15 minutes down the road, with miles of mountain biking. Spend a day at one of the beaches in Santa Cruz, Capitola, Aptos, Rio Del Mar, Davenport, Half Moon Bay, Monterey, or Carmel and return to your private oasis. Or Explore Silicon Valley from this centrally located parcel. Kim Son Meditation Center and Mount Madonna Center are approximately 15 minutes away.  There are also wonderful wineries throughout the mountains here. The trip to the site will begin with a three mile drive on a rough private dirt road.  Being on the very top of a mountain brings more seasonality than the surrounding cities.   Please be prepared for any kind of extreme weather. Summer: Shade is highly recommended it can get into triple digits. *Spring/fall: Temperatures are generally mild but high winds are possible. *Winter: Typically cold and windy. *During rainy/muddy conditions 4x4/AWD is highly recommended.  It is possible for it to get windy, foggy, rainy, hot and sunny, and even sometimes snowy. Please note: The nearest grocer is 30 minutes from this site. Emergency supplies are available for delivery to your campsite. Cell phone reception is good on most carriers.  Pets are allowed.  Enjoy your time howling at the moon, star gazing, bird watching/wildlife viewing, or relaxing with your favorite libation. Don't forget your camera! Please keep the lid to the trash closed, and do not pour grease anywhere you do not want wasps. We have traps available if there is an issue. Just ask.

#1 Acres of Privacy Heavenly Views
Not very private, but great views.
It’s a bummer because this place used to be super rad and quiet, a great escape from the busy bay, but my stay was kind of ruined by the unusually high traffic on a nearby road where vehicles seemed to be speeding around all day. The gate to the site is also broken and incredibly difficult to open. It just seems to have really gone down since the last time I camped here. Don’t get me wrong, the views are great, it just wasn’t very private or safe feeling with so many people whipping around out there. I actually left a whole night early because the two vehicles that kept coming by were increasingly more rowdy…perhaps New years is a bad time to camp out there.

Talk about a diamond in a rough. Beautiful views, level and clean land. Just amazing. The drive up was a bit rough because it becomes a dirt road at some point and there were burnt out/abandoned cars on the way - both of which I’m thankful for (deters campers so more availability) Get the fire table - it’s worth it.

Will go back!
Loved it. Wonderful views both skyward and down toward the Monterey Bay. Neat to be on the crest line.

Gorgeous Views, Needs more upkeep
One of the most impressive views for a campsite I’ve had. Some issues won’t be having us back soon, however. Camp above the clouds and wake up to some fantastic summit views. Splurge for the propane to help w ambience at night. On a clear night you can see the stars above the city and over the valley as well. We had some wind and rain the first night so be ready to tie everything down and bring cover (this applies to sun as well, it got hot!) Follow GPS coordinates and you should find the campsite easily. Fairly rugged 3 mile climb, not advised to bring a sedan but I did see one or two make the trip up. The bathroom was a deal breaker. It was covered in rat feces. Other campers had thrown their used tp around the outside of the toilet and it’s clear no one knew how to flush it properly. I used the urinal and a pipe was busted so it went all over the floor. Also a slight headache to find, ask for a map in advance as it took a couple hours to receive a response from the host. I guess the sites aren’t checked after check out. Around my site others had used the perimeter for a toilet and left their used tp.
