The view is beautiful. We had a clear sky with a big full moon, and we even saw a comet. The site is very private. The night we were there it was windy.

We loved camp #3.
Road is a bit rough getting there but was worth it once we arrived. During the morning and day it gets very hot so we headed down the mountain to the ocean and was only about an hour drive.

The spot was tent and pop up canopy ready! Very secluded and private surrounded by mountain range, rocks and trees but the actual site was flat and easy to set up camp & park. Lots of space for camping activities but small enough to have that intimate

Incredible. Sunny but still cool, however no trees on actual camp site, so bring an umbrella and pop up! No wild animals close to campsite so felt safe to walk around at night. The coordinates the owner provides on how to find the
Location were spot on via google maps. Be prepared to drive on an unpaved road for a few miles. It can be a little bumpy, however the scenery and ambiance of the drive makes up for it 10 fold! And what’s camping without a little off roading! ;) 10/10 definitely coming out here again!!

We booked Island in the sky for a weekend trip . As described , it is a remote , secluded site , private with a great view of Santa Cruz and San Jose , Morgan Hill area. It is about 40 minutes off Highway 17 . Propane fire place was provided for extra fee as well as propane burners. We had a little difficulties finding the spot as GPS pointed us to a house, direction from owner is valuable

Super beautiful and private. In summer does get very hot so don’t recommend being at the site between 10am-6pm. The views are incredible! The road is bumpy but with a Subaru forester we were fine.

Overall, site was as listed and it was straightforward to book! Unfortunately it was a hot weekend and there is no shade at this site, so definitely make sure to bring a shade structure since direct sunlight hits the camp for nearly the entire day.

Amazing views and camp was exactly as described. Secluded and quiet. Picnic table and trash can was a great touch. We had an awesome getaway! Don’t hesitate to book!
We brought a 18ft travel trailer and roads were dicey getting up but going slow got us there!

Incredible campsite with an unforgettable view! Be prepared for epic sunsets AND sunrises. Exactly the getaway we needed, and well worth the 3-mile bumpy drive. We did encounter some difficulty with the lock on the gate, but a few strong yanks got it open. 10/10 would recommend!

Have a very pleasant experience at the camp. Too bad the weather wasn’t great the next morning so didn’t have any photos. We felt safe and comfortable at the camp site while car camping since there is a gate with a lock on it.
The way up there could be a little bumpy. We went up the HW152 and came down from 17. The dirt road on the 17 side is much shorter, so would recommend coming up this way if you are coming from San Jose. Drive from San Jose was around 50 minutes depends on the traffic

We had an incredible stay! The road is definitely rough getting there. We had a truck with a rooftop tent and the road is definitely doable coming the 152 way in. We also had a trailer that our friend pulled in and the road made was way more challenging if you have a trailer
We will definitely be going back but it does get very cold at night
The bathroom was clean but out of water
Overall I would absolutely recommend to stay. The view is absolutely incredible

Bumpy ride getting there with the unpaved roads, but was expected. Directions from GPS was clear and got there. Host even DM'd us making sure to answer all questions. Phone signal was spotty, comes and goes. As far as the site, it was beautiful. Other sites was far apart and felt we had the place for ourselves. Definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in site#3 and it had the most beautiful view. Plenty of space to stretch out and relax. I would recommend bringing your own camping toilet because the porta potty on the property was really yucky when we were there, but maybe it was about to be cleaned? But bringing a camping toilet saves the day. We had such a relaxing time and would love to go back.

Amazing views and incredibly remote. The journey to the spot is epic in the truest sense of the word, but well worth the bumpy ride to get to a great spot. The provided picnic table, trash can, and firepit with gas connection were a bonus.

Rough ride in, but the view is 🤩🤩
It’s a beautiful campsite- especially on a clear night/day! Our main difficulty was finding it, service was spotty so even after reaching the host it was hard to get clear direction. The directions provided were long, but I think some of the signs were a bit different than what was described and ended up on a very rocky ridge route that was pretty scary. drove about 1 hours longer than needed. However, had we gone the right way- it would have been much less scary and would have arrived before sundown (our original plan). Those who don’t have good shocks in your car might be in for a ROUGH ride. Potholes and dirt roads.

The toilets were disgusting. Our camp site was supposed to hold 12 but only had 1 picnic table. The road to the campsite was really terrible to drive on.

Best campsite I've ever stayed at (out of literally 100-200 campsites I've been to).
One note though: gets quite cold at night, and very hot during the day. Being at the top of a mountain (with unbelievable views) means it's very exposed to sunlight and wind.
Still, I can't recommend it highly enough. Many thanks to the hosts!

We were able to find it using the gps on Hipcamp even in the dark with relatively low difficulty. The views are absolutely insane. I wouldn’t recommend going up and down more than once…. But location and actual camping spot was extremely cool. Would highly recommend for a one or two night stay like we did!
