Come and enjoy nature in the Sierra foothills while listening to the birds sing. You might get to see a quail family or a flock of wild turkeys come through.  The RV Site is 25 feet long and 9 1/2 feet wide, so this is for a smaller RV or van. There are no hookups available at the site. Enjoy cooking in our communal outdoor kitchen equipped with a sink, counter tops, propane stove, and earth oven. Bring your dutch ovens and cook on our special fire brick table. Sit around the fire pit and tell stories or roast marshmallows with friends. Enjoy the enclosed outdoor hot shower before retiring for the night or to start your day. Our donkeys love treats such as banana peals, apple cores, etc. and will thank you with a hardy HeeHaw. Just 31 miles from Yosemite Valley and only 9 miles from historic Mariposa. Fresh eggs and garden produce for sale when available, just ask.

At Sanctuary of the Oaks we currently have 11 campsites. Sites #2 through #7, and #10 are tent sites. Sites #1 and #8 are group sites that can accommodate two or three tents. Site # 9 is a 12 ft x 14 ft wall tent set up on a wooden floor platform. And the RV1 site can accommodate up to a 20 ft RV, no  hook ups. It is possible to park your vehicle in front of, or next to all of the sites. However most of the parking spots are small and not level. So if you are planning to sleep in your vehicle, we would recommend that you book either the RV1 site, or book one of the other sites and park in the ‘extra parking’ area next to the ‘round house.’

We booked Sanctuary of the Oaks last minute and it was an excellent option for basing ourselves near Yosemite National Park (around an hour drive away). The facilites are great, a communal kitchen, plug for charging phones, fire with free fire wood, clean toilets, hot outdoor showers and friendly donkeys. The hosts were very welcoming, we would definitely recommend Sanctuary of the Oaks!

Great area, 2 hot enclosed showers, 2 enclosed out houses. Community kitchen was great for food prep and sink came in handy. Hosts were very nice. 1.5 hr drive to Yosemite. I would recommend this space!
Just a heads up, We visited in June and mosquitos got bad in the evening, otherwise not noticeable (be prepared!)

Fun place to stay if you want to meet other campers. The showers were surprisingly lovely if you don't mind the little critters. Nice and quiet at night too.

Campsite itself was great! It was clean, the donkeys were cool, the community area was nice. Didn’t have to pack so much considering they had everything. The RV site was ok for car/overland camping. The downside to this area is that it’s right next to the community center. During my stay I had a group of people who thought it was cool to wash dishes while talking to their mom over the speaker phone was cool. The other sites all seemed really nice and had great spots to setup camp.

I chose this site because it was only about a hour away from Yosemite and 13 mins away from the city, Mariposa. Highly recommend going into the city and enjoying those sights.

This is a very good value! I popped in for a brief one night stay to Yosemite and it worked out well.

Lovely hosts, nice little secluded place near Mariposa. Used it as a gateway to Yosemite, worked perfectly (secured a spot in Tuolumne Meadows the next day)! Facilities are simple but more than enough, great value!!!

We got in at night so we didn’t get a typical meet and greet with the host, though she drove by in the morning and said hi. The area was great! Very well setup and clean—especially the bathroom!
