A 14-ft, boho trailer is tucked next to our pond swimming holes and the fire pit. This cute little quarters has two twin beds and a bunk bed suitable for a child. , It’s perfect for two people, with plenty of space outside for tent camping for two more people. This site is our most primitive, so no electricity or running water, but has an outhouse nearby., so come prepared to camp at the Peacock Trailer . As always we ask for a leave no trace mentality.
Sacred dog ranch is a working ranch,so you’ll see some Ranch hands around. You will be greeted by about seven dogs, all of whom have been rescued from one situation or another’s. We also have horses, mini horses, and a full barnyard complete with chickens goats and more. Everyone loves a good petting zoo!. We love self-sufficient independent campers but also love to show people around the property. Some folks like to help garden or take care of the animals so just let us know when you get here. We’re about 2 miles off the 101, 40 minutes from Richardson Grove State Park, and quite a few other swimming holes along the Eel River. This time of year there are no campfires allowed, and we ask extreme safety with any kind of smoking. Come see us!

Great experience all the way around. Lisa is an amazing, energetic host. I spent time sitting in the shade at total peace during the day and enjoyed extended deep star gazing at night. The property it extraordinary to walk and all the animals offer a welcoming loving spirit
The Sacred Dog Ranch experience was great. We found the area easily, and were welcomed by several friendly dogs who barked a greeting and then were nice and friendly to us and our dog the rest of the weekend. This is a beautiful property filled with very kind people doing all sorts of creative things. The Ranch is also home to myriad other living creatures who are fun to interact with ranging from billy goats to alpacas to peacocks. It made a nice base station for exploring the Mendocino / Humboldt County area, and is less than an hour away from beautiful state forests and several other great spots to visit while also being secluded enough to not hear any other people and be able to see the stars. Would totally come back here again.
Relaxing and charming sanctuary outside of Laytonville. The trailer was very cute and rustic. Be sure to mind the poison oak which is sprinkled around the ranch, but it was no trouble for us and we slept great :) Thank you, Sacred Dog Ranch!
Sacred Dog is a beautiful ranch with wonderful, friendly inhabitants. Our trailer was rustic but comfy and we slept very well. We had a great time exploring the land and meeting Gary and Mary and all the animals. Would definitely recommend staying here!
