We booked this as an instant book and want to say thanks to Sara for welcoming us at the last minute! The site is really nice with views of a vineyard and surrounding foothills. Super private and Sara and James provide everything needed for an awesome trip. Lots of stars at night and a great launching spot for all the cool stuff around the area. We only stayed one night but it was exactly what we were looking for. Thanks again Sara!

Set up was perfect for star gazing. The campsite was exactly as expected - clean with a fire pit. The only downsides were 1) no shade - bring a canopy and 2) yellow jackets - could be addressed with a couple of hanging traps. Neither one was a deal breaker as the unobstructed view and minimal light pollution more than made up for it. Hosts were great communicators and easy to work with. Thanks for a fun and quick camping experience.

Hi Andy and thank you for staying with us. We are looking into adding a canopy with a screen so the meat bees don't 'bug' our guests:)

Sara and James were wonderful hosts with a great property for a private camping trip. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the vineyards on the hillside and the epic star gazing! They provided a tote of water each day which was a bonus we weren't expecting. Id recommend campers bring at least one pop up canopy as there is little shade in the campsite during the day. Id also recommend a 4wd vehicle although it may not be necessary, we had one and it was useful getting up the trail from the paved road. There was a cute chair hammock in the shaded area that was a nice bonus as well. We brought our own firewood but there was a decent sized pile on the property if we had run out. The campsite is nice and flat as well as spacious for a tent. 10 minute drive to the store for last minute needs and ice. We would definitely return, Id love to see the property when it is green in the Spring.

Neat spot nestled in the vineyard. Convenient location that is close to things to do (Calaveras Big Tree Park, New Melones Lake). Real charm of this site hits when the sun is setting, at least for our trip, as it gets a lot of sun during the day and no shade for most of the day (Mid-August). Canopy or sun shade recommended. It cooled down and the sunset and stars, wild turkeys roosting in the trees up the way, crickets chirping, were awesome. Our daughter loved the tree hammock swing too.

Great view of the vineyards and hills.

Very private site and really nice views. Description is accurate. Pretty steep dirt road to get up to the site so make sure if you have a trailer that the tv can handle it. We have a small travel trailer and loved the comfort of it for this setting. Be aware to be self contained as advertised. The site is only a few minutes from downtown Murphy which is always worth a visit. Lets support local businesses.
We drove up to the PCT for a couple hours of hiking after setting up the trailer and then enjoyed a beautiful evening at the site.
Host provided water to douse the fire when turning it in. Host will repond asap if you have questions by text. We ll be back. Overall a great experience.
