it is perfect for pitching a tent or sleeping in your car when you cannot find a spot in the park (Joshua Tree national park is very often full). The land is not far from the entrance (about 15 minutes drive)

You will need to bring your own little table and chairs + whatever else you wish to have there.

There is no bathroom or trash on the land. Please pack everything back out with you and discard once you reach a public trash.

You will enjoy over 2 acres of privacy, endless views, starry skies complete with sunrise and sunset :)

(The city allows us to camp on our private vacant land only 4 nights a month, and of course does not allow short term rentals. For that reason a suggested donation of $25 per night is all that we are asking from our hipcamp community to help keep the space maintained :)

This campsite is incredibly close to the park, but it has the wide open space of a private campground--it's a win-win! It's a cool little plot of land for you to pitch your tent, and super accessible. A bar, a place for showers, and the town of Joshua Tree are all right down the street.

Loved this place! Exactly what we were looking for, a cool little place in the desert to set up a tent and have a warm little camp fire under the stars. Definitely going back!

Primitive paradise is just as described, primitive but exactly what you need when you can't get in JTNP. The only thing I wanted to mention is that if you travel by RV it is not ideal when your vehicle is longer then 25ft. I usually travel by bicycle and tent but this time I was travelling with my elderly parents and we rented a monstrous 32ft RV. It was not possible to make a U turn at primitive paradise so we had to back it up all the way on the little narrow road.

Great spot for a last minute crash. Not far from the park and feels secluded. Very basic though so be prepared to go without a bathroom or water. It was nice to be alone and not on top of other campsites. Super easy to book last minute. Instant access. Would stay here again.

I loved the privacy this camp spot offered! I’d definitely come back here the next time visiting Joshua Tree!

The post helped with shielding the heavy winds we experienced the night we stayed here! Ooo, and sunsets were great.
