This place, our property, is a frickin awesome place to camp!  You are right on the north fork of the Yuba River. The best drinking water you will ever find is right across the street.

Please note that site #1, we call it "Sun", has a picnic table. Site #2, "Moon", does not have a picnic table.

Rock Dance Camp is a really special place. My friends and I were the first hipcampers to stay here this past weekend, and we had a wonderful time. You are completely secluded, right on the bank of the Yuba, surrounded by big pines and views of the Sierra Buttes towering in the distance. The site is right off Hwy 49, but the sound of cars isn't audible at all over the sound of the river rushing. Great white noise to sleep to! Definitely a bit more rugged than your average campsite - it requires a bit of a "rock dance" and a balancing act across a fallen tree to get from the parking spot to the site, but nothing too challenging. The only improvements we could see would be clearing a bit of the brush to make the fire ring more of a circle to sit around, as well as clearing a few more tent spots. We had 8 people / 5 small tents and had a bit of a challenge finding space for some of them. All in all, a super majestic spot with easy access to the Yuba, Sierra City, & the PCT. Try the water from the springs across the road - its delicious! Thanks, Dan!

Thanks Alexandra! You definitely "got" the place and now can see where the name came from ). So glad to hear you enjoyed your time there.
