We may be around working on the property but we will be distancing as well. Park right next to your site: you can toss your gear into Quercus Cabin and sleep in The Stream, our 30-foot 1970's vintage Airstream. There is a double bed, a double futon bed/sofa and a thick foam sleeping mat in The Stream to bed a child on the floor. Plus, a folding table and two chairs, LED lighting, a box fan and propane heater. Oh, yeah, your own deck with seating and lighting. Just toss on your sleeping bags and camp's made. Steps to our hot showers and toilet, 200' to the full kitchen, fire pit and four more toilets. Quercus Cabin has 12v LED lighting mirrors, clothing pegs and folding chairs, BUT mice in the ceiling make it less fun for sleeping! Our nearby 2,000 sq. ft. Pavilion has seating and free wifi. Please note: you are expected to leave the ranch and kitchen area as you found it, i.e., dishes washed thoroughly and dried and put away, recycling separated from trash, food scraps in compost buckets, sticky marshmallow removed from forks and surfaces (ick!). Thank you. Please enjoy: The kitchen has pots/pans, dishes, glassware, utensils, propane bbq, wash up sinks, microwave, full-size fridge, counters, cutting boards, etc. Turtle Cove, our swimming hole, has great floating; fish in early Spring to early Summer. The rest of the 722-acre ranch is yours to explore: walk down the 3/4 mile of Tule River trail, walk to our 100-acres of pasture or hike 3 miles up to 3,000' at the top of our mountain. River Ridge goes from 1,000' elev. to 3,000' elev. and passes from 3/4 of a mile of superb riparian corridor through Valley Oak grassland to Blue Oak Woodland and ends in Chaparral. Abundant wildlife. Next to Giant Sequoia National Monument (free). We are over a one hour drive to Sequoia National Park, but we're only 16 miles to groves up Hwy 190. If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My boyfriend and I came to this site to celebrate our anniversary. Little did we know, this campsite is also used to hold weddings, so the love was already filling the air with many romantic spots all over the grounds. And man did Gary seriously hooked it up with his wonderful spot! It had that perfect feel of glamping, but not too much, to still feel like you're out there camping it up! Heck, we loved the spot so much, we didn't even end up going out to venture. We just relaxed in our hammock by the swimming hole. It was like we had gone on this strenuous hike to get out to a secluded spot in the middle of no where... but really, we were only a few minute walk from the bathroom. We stayed in cabin 3 which had an adorable patio right next to it to enjoy our breakfast. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was even a fridge and freezer. Gary thought everything out providing us with anything we could possibly need. There was even multiple burners so everyone staying at all the sites could cook breakfast at the same time. Everyone was extremely friendly and respectful and you could hang around the community campfire, but there was also plenty of room and accessories that allowed you to do your own thing as well. We very much so enjoyed our stay and felt like it was the perfect way to get away from the city, relax and take a breath of fresh air! Thanks so much Gary! We'd love to come back!
Quercus Cabin was everything I thought it would be and more. My boyfriend and I loved our stay, and were pleasantly surprised with everything the site area had to offer us. There was an outdoor shower (love!), the kitchen area was fully stocked with cooking utensils, and the eating area was ADORABLE. I’m the adventurer that usually doesn’t stay around the sleeping area too much (campsite, hotel, etc.) because I struggle with letting a vacation be relaxing — and for the FIRST TIME EVER, Quercus Cabin made me take a deep breathe, relax, and enjoy my surroundings. We spend so much more time at the cabin than we planned, and I am forever grateful. We would give 10 thumbs up if we could!
We pulled in for a quick stop on our way north and thoroughly enjoyed out stay. We slept in the airstream which is not in the photos but for us was the cooler place to stay. It was very cozy, and as we had rain, more comfortable than camping. It has an official capacity of 2, but there was room for our 12 year old on the sofa.
There was no one else, including the host, at River's Ridge so we got to explore on our own. It's a big place obviously set up for weddings and large events. There's an outdoor kitchen that was well stocked and convenient. We wandered the grounds discovering lots of cool spaces many of which would come in handy for a wedding. The swimming hole would be great if the weather was warmer. There's a huge fire pit that was too much to use alone, but would be great with a large group. Overall, loved it.
We feel so lucky to have been able to stay at River Ridge Ranch! So many sites and sounds--we loved exploring the property and waking up here. The Quercus Cabin + Stream is cozy, spacious, and minimally furnished with essentials and comfy beds. The kitchen is fully equipped (but bring your own coffee), the bathrooms are clean and private, and everything else, including the fire pit, dining area, and decks, are beautiful and just really well set up. You could really tell that Gary has put a lot of pride and care into this property. Perfect nature getaway without all the hassles of actually camping. Oh, and it's only a short 5 minutes drive into town in case you need to re-up on groceries or supplies. We really wish we had more time here. Thank you, Gary!
Came here with my girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. We hiked at Camp Nelson, that has one of the closest Sequoia groves, before arriving and it was only about 30 mins away. Gary was there to greet us and show us around/explain everything. Beautiful grounds, with a swimming hole, multiple cabins, campsites, pastures, hangout area, outdoor bathroom/shower and kitchen/cooking area with pretty much everything you'd need. It takes a full day to explore and enjoy everything so make sure to walk around and get the most of it! We booked this space for just the two of us, but it comes with 2 sleeping options so we had our choice of the airstream or the cabin. Bring blankets, it got cold at night! Waking up to the sounds of herding cows, and cooking a fresh breakfast outdoors was amazing. Great birthday!
The property was lovely. The kitchen had all cooking supplies you needed. I would recommend bringing a sleeping bag for bedding. We stayed in the trailer and had to remove mouse poop for the bed before putting our bags down. We didn’t have much direction when we got there, no info was left about the site but we figured everything out. Go see the sheep! One really loves to be pet!
The property itself is beautiful and expansive with so many unique little features with the labyrinth and stream.. we also loved sitting under the grape vines and enjoying their natural shade!
I would definitely recommend this location and come back if I was ever in the area again
