Camping in Ian’s property was such a beautiful experience. We all feel like we were in a deep forest but not as dangerous as real forests. He provides several things that We didn’t ask for and that was helpful. The emergency portal potty was awesome and we are sorry that we also use it for non-emergency so we made it full.
My suggestion of improvement will be the direction information. We all lost our service more than an hour before we arrived so when we just got there, wasn’t really sure what to do for a second. Luckily Ian was waiting for us there so we were only confused for a little bit. Remember to get clear Direction to your camp site from him before you lose your service. Also, get gas before you lose your service too.
I can’t wait to go back!
I had an amazing weekend thanks to Ian and his property. I decided to take a solo trip and break from the world and stumbled upon the Redwood Blue Waterfalls.
The host: Ian was great. I pulled in Friday night later than expected which he was totally cool with and met me at the site to show me around. He grew up in the area and offered so many local tips form beach/surf spots, fishing, stores/food, sight seeing, and just great overall knowledge of the area that would have taken a lot of research to acquire. While I was out fishing one day it began to rain and Ian (living close, but not too close by) went by the site and and covered up anything I left out including wood, which was huge because. I would not have been able to have a fire that night without him doing that. I can’t say enough about how great he was.
The property: Beautiful! I was amazed with how close I was to everything, while still feeling far enough off the beat and path. Totally easy to get to. It was a super clean and gorgeous. I now want to wake to the sound of the waterfall everyday. I was out and about so much that I feel like I didn’t explore the property enough, but I will on my next trip.
The area: I grew up 4 hours away and never knew the beauty of this place existed. It was my first trip this far up the northern coast and was blown away by the stunning forests and the breathtaking coastlines. Fish, hike, beach, explore the towns (mostly closed when I was there due to COVID), surf, kayak, and most importantly just relax.
Overall: Perfect. Exactly what I needed and what I was looking for. I’ll be returning in two weeks with a friend I have coming to town to show off the hidden gem I found.
Thanks again Ian!!
Some clear disclosure would have been appreciated. This is a very small campsite, it’s not a traditional campsite size - it was probably not longer than 20 feet and maybe 12 feet wide. Your average campsite is 50 x 50. It was more like a driveway.
It certainly wasn’t what I was expecting, the host knew I was bringing my VW camper and a tent. We ended up pitching the tent a little up hill from where the camper was parked to his suggestion, it certainly wasn’t ideal . He did let me know there was no fire ring which was fine because there’s a stove in the camper. But there was no bench even to sit or eat at. We had chairs that I had brought.
Of course area is beautiful, I’m a native Northern Californian and so I’m quite familiar with the area. We made the best of the accommodations and enjoyed the redwoods and coastal headlands but it’s not somewhere I would stay again.
Wonderful property. Great host. Helpful and knowledgeable. Ian had great recommendations and was always ensuring we had enough firewood, space, and privacy. Looking forward to staying here again.
Exceeded expectations !
AMAZING experience! Ian was so helpful and very accommodating from the second we booked until we left. This spot has so many cool spots not photographed so it was a pleasant surprise when we arrived. Definitely the most beautiful place I’ve ever camped. Booking again next month. Ian also have great recommendations for nearby hikes. Thanks Ian!
We really enjoyed our two night stay at the Redwood Blue Waterfalls! When we arrived, Ian had already provided the firewood and some tarps because we were expecting rain. It is a beautiful green campsite with great state parks to hike at close by!
