This campsite is private with 1/4 mile river access, no nearby roads, completely dark night skies, and lots of hangout areas on and away from the river. The land has beautiful and diverse native flora and fauna including fox, mountain lion, coyote, hawks, owl, bobcat, deer and every reptile and bird species known to the area. Please at least learn one plant: the Tule Reed for which the river, the Native people, the county, the city, and my dog are named.
FIRES ONLY PERMITTED IN WINTER AND SPRING after fire restrictions have been lifted. Bring your own wood.
___________ Habitat Restoration is Recreation
All of our campsite guests are invited to help out in some way on the land and surrounding public lands. The local environmental organization WildPlaces has many land and river restoration projects availabe to help empower you to be change agents. Projects include tree plantings, trail building, invasive species removal, trash and gang tagging removal, meadow restoration, seed collection, water quality monitoring, public outreach, and more.)
Our interest in the protection and restoration of the land is strong and goes beyond even our love of having guests. So your service to the lands and waters is part of the "new recreation" that must adapt to increased human impact on...well, everything. In other words, outdoors recreation now requires that we not only manage our own impact but must also take a bite out of someone else.

This trip was absolutely amazing! Mehmet & Chico were perfect hosts — super accommodating and helpful not just to me, but to any of the guests staying on the property (they graciously helped cook and provide food for 2 of the campers traveling from Italy one night)!
Not only is the property breathtaking, but it sits at the base of the Sequoia National Forest giving access to pristine water holes and beautiful hikes.
I recommend setting up your tent right by the water. It's cool when things get hot, and you'll find yourself visited by Tule, their dog, for frequent cool down dips in the river. Win win!
Chico was a great host, and Tule the dog took care of us. Access to the river was quick and relatively easy. The property is convenient to Sequoia National Forest, Springville, and Porterville if you need to leave, but the property is so nice you will not want to leave.
Phenomenal site with awesome hosts! Mehmet and Chico are awesome, but Tule the dog was by far the best! Lots going on, but plenty of areas with privacy. Beautiful sites near the Tule - awesome place to cool off. Full outdoor kitchen with anything you need (utensil wise - bring your own food). Make sure to help around a little (some friends and I put together a fire pit) and respect the land! I'll totally be back.
We had an amazing time and the property exceeded our expectations. There are several overnight spots on the property varying in levels of glamping to full on camping, the views are amazing, and of course you can beat the heat in the river. We also enjoyed that there is a full outdoor kitchen, which is great for those who don't want to have to pack their entire kitchen on a camping trip. We can't wait to come back!
I had a wonderful time! The shower is lovely, the river is glorious, and the hosts are warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. And Tuley the Dog is the kindest, wisest, and most sweetly protective animal I have ever met. I am not a dog person, and I fell in love with him.
The campsite was perfect to either relax at the entire weekend or use as a base camp for exploring the southern Sequoia National Park and Forest. The campsites are more private than you’d get at the National Park and have extra amenities like the shower and common space (which included table, utensils, fridge, freezer, toaster oven, stove, and sink for washing dishes). The property itself is beautiful, nestled against the foothills and along a stretch of the Tule River. The (mostly) private river access is the crown jewel of this campground, I spent most afternoons cooling off at the river. Mehemet and Destiny were helpful hosts and you can tell they care deeply about the land and want others to have the opportunity to enjoy and help preserve it.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay on Mehmet and Chico's property. The river is absolutely magical, and every campsite is desirable and has plenty of privacy. We went towards the end of September with the intention of going to Sequoia to do an extended day hike. We almost didn't leave the site because the campsite was so beautiful and serene. I'm really glad we chose to stay two hours south of Sequoia, because the night was so much warmer in a tent at M&C's than it would have been had we stayed in Sequoia!
Staying at the beautiful and so friendly place of Memo & Chico. The whole place shows a lot of love, peace, hapiness and dedication!!! We camped out at the top of the river and it was so serene and peacefull. We'll be coming back.
Thank you Memo & Chico for the great conversations and an unforgettable exprience.
